    “Liberals are now finding out…”

    “Liberals are starting to understand…”

“Liberals are finally waking up to the fact…”

Fuck anyone who talks like this. The left has been awake and aware of what’s going on for a LONG fucking time now. We are also unfortunately aware that we are essentially powerless to stop it. Don’t fucking pretend like liberals were blindsided by any of this or had their head in the sand. We saw this coming from a long ways away at a glacial pace and tried our damnedest to inform people and take action. We just happen to also be tied to a stake and gagged, so it’s not been very effective.

But the juxtaposition itself is stupid and is only being made in response to Trump’s dumbass claims as some sort of straw-grasping gotcha.

Imagine I had a roof that needed repairs and I decided to save my money and not fix it. Then the next day a meteor falls down and crashes through the roof. Two groups of people then report the damage, one next to claims that the original roof was made by immigrants, one next to claims that I didn’t spend money on repairs. But these are both dumb juxtapositions because it doesn’t matter. Neither would have changed anything. A meteor is a meteor and it will crash through regardless of who built it or what state of repair it’s in. It’s pretty clear that neither group actually gives a shit about the meteor or about my roof, they just have an agenda they’re trying to push.

Can we fucking stop? This is just as pathetic as Dump claiming the crash was because of DEI.

The crash was caused by the helicopter pilot.

It had nothing to do with DEI, it had nothing to do with people getting fired. We can hear the audio logs between the tower and the helicopter pilot. ATC did their job correctly. This accident would have happened regardless of whether the firings happened or not.

People are dead. And both sides are just so fucking eager to turn it into something political. Hey, guess what? Sometimes, shit just fucking happens. Not because of any woke ideology, and not because of the actions of an orange turd, but because humans are accident prone creatures and often fuck things up. The only one to blame is the helicopter pilot and he’s fucking dead now.

You know how stupid Dump sounds to you when he says it was because of DEI? Pretty fucking stupid right? I mean, DEI clearly isn’t what caused it and you’d have to be either a liar or a complete dumbfuck to make that claim.

Well… That’s what the right thinks about you all when you try to pin the blame on the firings. It clearly isn’t what caused it and you’d have to be a liar or complete dumbfuck to make that claim.

  • So a single sycophantic congresswoman from Florida introduces a bill with no budget, no analysis on its feasibility, and no widespread interest from the Republican base; a bill that hasn’t even gone to committee, yet alone be eligible for a vote; and you think that equals “they have the votes for it”?

Jesus fucking Christ, take a few minutes to learn just the bare fucking basics of how the government works. There’s a Schoolhouse Rock video that even explains it nicely in song form.

ANY congressperson can submit a bill for anything. It doesn’t take much at all. Tomorrow a congressperson could submit a bill saying that nails are illegal and all meat products are to be replaced by stone figurines of Marie Antoinette. It doesn’t mean anything! Congresspeople create this kind of crap literally all the time! It’s not worth talking about until it has slightly more than a snowball’s chance in hell of having support.

  • I was the gay friend who changed my friend group’s language, and I didn’t even do it intentionally. After I came out, I had a few of my friends ask if them saying “fag” or “gay” or similar was bothering me as long as they weren’t intending it to be a slur against gay people. I just told them the honest truth:

“It doesn’t bother me, and I don’t think any less of you for using it; but I do hear it every time it’s used. It jumps out just as clear as someone saying your name in a crowded room. Every. Time.”

And that’s really all it took. Just the awareness that those kinds of words aren’t entirely meaningless. That maybe if you’re only using them to describe something negative in a general sense, then there are other words you can use that work just as well, but aren’t connected to an entire group of marginalized people.

It was kind of a funny year or so after that when they were trying to break the habit. One of them would accidentally say something and all that would happen is we would lock eyes for a second and I’d just give a small smile and a nod as if to say “You’re fine, I don’t think you’re a bigot. But yea, I heard that.”

  • Wow, the guy you linked comes off as a total tool. Pretty much all the city violations he’s creepily giddy to list off with his Ajit Pai smile all turn into a moot point when the alternative is LITERALLY SLEEPING ON THE STREET. You think someone gives a single shit if there aren’t enough visible exit signs? You think they care if the functioning smoke detectors don’t have a record of regular inspections? He also lists off how “dangerous” the homeless are, with their drug use and past crimes. Yea, they’re fucking homeless. What? You think they all have a squeaky clean record?

Look at the violations he listed and ask yourself how many of those probably apply to your own place of residence. When was the last time you had a fire inspector come and certify that your fire alarms were working? Does your house have fire sprinklers in every room? If you have a propane grill, is the tank stored up to restaurant code, or is it just stored outside on the ground? Do you have a record of when you last replaced the vent tube on your dryer? No? Oh ok. So maybe people aren’t immediately in mortal danger when those codes aren’t followed. And yes, there’s a reason for the codes; but none of them should stand in the way of desperate people seeking shelter from the elements.

There’s always more to the story. I’m not going to say the pastor is entirely blameless as it does sound like the city gave him multiple opportunities to fix violations. But when the fight is between a local government (which are notorious for anti-homeless regulations) throwing out a list of what seem like very nitpicky issues, and a guy literally just trying to give the most downtrodden people a temporary place to sleep and wash their clothes, I’m leaning toward the guy housing people being the one in the right.
