But yes, an important distinction to make is that certain Linux distributions may use code by others that is not open source and malicious without them realizing.
I mean, but we pretty much do know? The difference between Linux and Windows / MacOS is Linux is open source and can be checked and audited by anyone. If an exploit exists, it will be visible publicly and just needs to be spotted by those knowledgeable enough. Windows and MacOS are more than likely audited too but by private companies under NDA, so then it’s left up to Microsoft or Apple to decide what exploits are fixed.
Super pissed off FPTP is still a thing. My riding was quite interesting this year. Polls showed a safe conservative win with NDP slightly behind and liberals at barely anything. What actually happened was a huge number of liberal votes compared to what was expected and less conservative and NDP votes as a result. The conservatives won with only ~38% of the vote vs the over 50% they were showing in the polls. I can almost garuntee that if we had ranked choice, either NDP or liberals would have won. It’s very frustrating as I’m certain a lot of the left leaning voters were focusing on a national level and not a local one.
I know it’s not the takeaway from your post, but if you’re actually getting one please test the litter robot throughly before allowing your cat to use it unsupervised. I’ve seen videos of horrible designs that have killed pets before and when word gets out, they just re-brand them.

If anyone is curious as to why we don’t run the world off solar, from what I understand the big issue is power grid frequency. Unlike a turbine, solar has no intertia. If you take away light the power drop is instant. With turbines, they keep spinning due to their weight. This is especially important since if a large load is suddenly energized, the turbine might slow down but still won’t stop immediately. Maybe in the future giant electric powered flywheels or pumpgen systems can take up the slack. Nuclear would likely also help since those are essentially giant steam turbine generators. At this point they seem like joy rides. To start I remember them claiming they were using the data from New Shepard to learn how to best control and land the much larger and more expensive New Glenn rocket, which made sense. It’s not like SpaceX is going to share how they manage to nail the landings so repeatedly, it’s the secret to their success.
