  • Sort of depending on what you’re wanting out of it. In both games you’re given an island to do whatever you want with that’s fully customizable and you can fill it with whatever islanders you want. Tomodachi Life doesn’t have anything like the Museum though and you don’t have any direct control over how anyone on the island acts. It’s more of like a simulator where you can watch your islanders interact, form friendships/relationships, do goofy things, and live life. You can control small things, like if you want two people to get closer you can drop them around each other to talk, but depending on what’s going on they might not do what you wanted. You can customize what people talk about and fine tune a villager’s personality and body language by leveling them and the island up.

    Personally I like Tomodachi Life a lot more than Animal Crossing, especially these newer entries where all the villagers feel samey. This new one having no filter has remained funny for way longer than I thought it would.
