Sometimes ping won’t even help notice that though, I’ve had instances where I was trying to diagnose why a home network connection kept freezing, and when running ping, it would freeze but then continue after 10 seconds, without erroring out or giving the normal ‘destination host not found’ error, or having really high millisecond response time, etc. I finally had to start running it with timestamps so I could see when the connection was choking, and not updating the ping for 10 seconds at a time.

Also, according to our own laws, she was doing something unlawful because why would she need $3,000 in cash?! They’d civil forfeiture that shit if a normal person got caught with that much cash on them.

Interesting, been using Linux for over 20 years at this point and never heard of Finnix… Any system recovery I’ve had to do, the usual basic live boot from Ubuntu or similar, had the tools I needed. I’ll have to check out fennix and see what its all about.

Saw a commercial on TV the last time I was home visiting family, and it was a guy at the grocery store looking at produce and picked up a pear and said ‘wow, 4 dollars??’ And then the next shot was him handing the cashier 2 pears and passing over a credit card, with the overlayed audio mentioning something about being in good hands with whatever credit card company it was. Bleak as fuck for sure. I can’t believe someone greenlit that commercial, for what it says about the state of the country and how fucked people are they can’t afford basic fucking food without putting it on credit. People can’t afford food, and they’re framing it as a positive.
