I was wondering if there is an alternative platform such as Lemmy and Reddit that has these networks of discussion based forums with wide ranging topics but with more free speech/less censorship and a userbase that more realistically represents the actual people of the world.

I noticed that Reddit and especially Lemmy lean extremely far to the left and therefore have a pretty unrealistic bias for things which doesn’t accurately reflect how most average people would see things.

I’m someone who is very open for all kinds of viewpoints and I’m looking for a place where I can get answers that more accurately reflect peoples view.

For example as someone who’s interested in American politics and culture it is basically impossible to learn about it on this platform since everyone here including Americans themselves seems to have a deep hate towards America and the values it stands for.

I also noticed that even though it’s better than on Reddit there are still moderators here who will remove discussions just when people don’t agree on a topic. And I’m looking for something that is not censoring content unless it’s illegal to be able to freely express oneself.

The problem with platforms such as X is that they’re structurally drastically different from something like Lemmy or Reddit. Even though X does have communities, they’re not as wide ranging in topics and don’t focus on more in-depth discussion. Instead X seems to mainly promote prominent individuals opinions over the quality of content itself. Furthermore there also seems to be a character limit for X posts which basically only gives you a few basic sentences as a title without having a more detailed body section (unless you pay for it I guess, but even then the chance that anyone will see your post and answers is very low).

I assume I will probably also don’t get a proper answer on this one since I will now be called a disturbed radical right person who seeks platforms that will promote hate and child pornography or something.

You could try Truth Social if you’re looking for places where the right to listen and speak aren’t intertwined and the representative of the users instead of bias.

If you’re looking for a site with more Fox News dipshits then go read the comments on the Fox News site. What do you want us to do about it if they’re not here?

The irony here is amazing. You’re requesting a community where people agree with you because you have a realistic view of the world.

Did you ever stop and think that you’re the common denominator and maybe, just maybe, your world view is the one that’s wrong?

Well, I don’t know how many online interactions you have. But has you ever imagined that perhaps the feedback you received here is actually the average of the people?

In these days is quite difficult to calibrate the crowd feeling for the insane amounts of echo chambers, the mass media crating opinion instead of informing and personal biases.

Usually, everybody of us is quite biased by our own interactions and knowledge of how the world worked around us. But those interactions are mainly defined by your social status, place of birth or simply where we live. By the specific details of people who debate in internet (probably accommodate urban person) it is possible that those ideas lean into a specific direction. But once again, it could be that you are simple realizing you are not with the majority

I live in one of the bluest cities in one of the bluest states in the US. And even here, the average Lemmy is nowhere near representative of the average person you meet in real life. If you think they are you are either deluding yourself or have an agenda to push.

Reddit is already an echo chamber and Lemmy just turns up the echo chamber dial to 100.

The real answer is that there is no platform that is perfectly representative of real life population. Everyone self-segregates into spaces they fee comfortable in.

If you’re “very open for all kinds of viewpoints” but simultaneously want to not be where left-wing voices are and also think a lot people aren’t left wing then I question the accuracy of your original statement.

I suspect your desire to ‘freely express yourself’ means you want to be a cunt to people in marginalised communities without repercussions.

Weird random mention of CSAM too.

since everyone here including Americans themselves seems to have a deep hate towards America and the values it stands for

C’mon, seriously? This has to be a troll post. Either that or this is the most absurd generalization I’ve heard in quite a while. And given the state of the media right now, that’s saying something.

There’s a difference between ‘no stupid questions’ and ‘extremely inflammatory and reactionary questions’.

Lemmy was made by communists, you’re gonna find communists lol. As far as I know there isn’t anything else particularly comparable. What made you leave reddit?

Even though Lemmy is made by communists, there is nothing stopping anybody from creating a total nazi instance and have their own circlejerk there. That’s just a funny example, applicable to anything else too.

Intelligent people tend to lean left. We’re not really interested in becoming ‘average’. Go to Facebook if that’s what you’re looking for.
