Can you use a laptop and a separate keyboard + mouse on an airplane tray? Unless you are flying business/first class every time, I find it hard to believe.
What makes you think you need to put the laptop on the tray? Like I said, just disable sleep when the lid is closed and you can keep it in the bag, or place it on the floor under your seat (for heat dispersion purposes).
