I never knew Canada was even in this game.
Seems this company lost a substantial part of their American investment money (Bezos), and is in danger of shutting down completely. Time for our federal government to come to the plate.
Or maybe China will fill the funding shortfall, and share the prize. Unlimited fusion power in a decade or so.
As it has always been.
The only thing it can’t do is leave the lab.
I don’t think anyone can actually do fusion power in the lab either. The only energy positive way to do fusion power is within a nuclear fission explosion isn’t it?
I wonder why? The funding increased somewhat in the last decade, which probably had a handy in the new milestones that were achieved, but now we have a state of global uncertainty that is going to impact a lot of major research funding for the next 4 years or so, so I don’t expect major changes in the next 10 years.
And so the cycle continues.
