What’s their justification for needing them?

I sure hope they don’t use the word “team.” Because that ain’t it.

Its an office space we lease. I am not sure who originally installed them as they were there when we moved in.

We do manage them and retain the recordings though.

I understand the practical limitations of privacy. But as the IT admin i am also the one who manages the cameras and access to them so that helps.

Ah, so it’s all fun and games as long as you’re the one watching. Who watches you?

No, I just understand that when I am in public or in a businesses private property I could and often am subject to video recording. It’s super super common and I’ve kind of just accepted it.

You can complain about the state of society or whatever but that’s our current situation.

I sure as fuck will complain about it. Not only that but I’ll actively fight it in any way I can. Masking up in public and never entering corporate hellholes is a good start. 2020 made it a lot easier.

Why you accept such conditions are beyond me except that they probably involve you getting paid for it and think that makes it worth it. Fuck that. It’s serfdom with a fancy title.

If i were a new employee I would see it as a lack of trust. Also as some kind of buy-in to the idea that you must be doing “justifiable” actions every minute of the day.

              And that’s completely understandable.

But I know, at least in our case, it’s just there for insurance purposes in case something happens. Which, thankfully nothing has.
