I don’t think being poor made me more empathetic. I was always empathetic.
I was just a priviledged fuck that didnt realise how bad it could get. Now that I do, my empathy extends further because I understand how much worse it is than I previously realised.
I don’t think it made me more inherently empathetic though.

I think it’s more the kind of person you have to be to get that much wealth in the first place selects for unethical people.
It’s not like they were good people before they had the money.
