    The difference is that Musk doesn’t depend on Trump to remain relevant (or solvent). All those others absolutely do: They were nothing before Trump, and nothing without him.

      The fact that musk apologized within 48 hours of his outburst and has all but hidden away with his tail between his leg legs for the most part the last few weeks is all we need to know man. A few token lines about opposing this bill so he can look sensible to his cult followers who swear he’s not a Trump sycophant unfortunately doesn’t change that

      Musk definitely depends on government contracts for his companies. If Trump cancels those all his companies will take a big hit which in turn will take a big chunk off his net worth which is propped by shares in those companies. If his net worth substantially goes down he may run into issues getting credit which will affect him directly. Elon Musk uses his stock to take loans to fund his personal expenses among other things.
