    …and the engine is in front of the firewall instead of inside the cabin.

    SUVs are light trucks with big wagon bodies. Crossovers are wagons with a lift.

    Best example of this, imo, is the subaru forester. People lower them all the time and they just look like a wagon at that point. (VW Tiguan is the same. They literally look like a lifted wagon. Either generation.)

      They have the frame of a truck, but the spirit of a minivan. Almost everyone with an SUV would be better served by a minivan, but they are just scared to be seen with one.
