The U.S. Trade Representative has announced the Trump administration is proposing tariffs of 10% or more for dozens of major trading partners following a probe into alleged forced labor

And it wasn’t in a great long-term place to start with, what with the massive fucking AI bubble that’s likely gonna pop within the year due to all the pending IPOs and subsequent reporting mandates.
Crashing the economy just means the rich assholes can buy everything for cheap. They like a good crash and always know when the music is about to stop.
Rich assholes can make money off those market manipulations today, and they think when the economy crashes everyone else is going to get hurt worse than them and they’ll effectively be even more powerful
Normally they’d be right but between dedolarization,t he Iran war, and the more general baseline breakdown on the floor level of the economy it’s just as likely they also get fucked over since most of the real big bastards have everything in stocks. It’s entirely possible they also get caught in the blast like the rest of us, especially if interstate trade breaksdown or some other massively impactful shit happens.
Mind you plenty of them will probably just flee the US but that has a good chance of not doing too much especially if the rest of the world avoids or resists the turmoil created by such a crash.
