Basically, there’s not enough remaining votes to realistically flip any of the swing states. So if they’re at 80% reporting with 52% going to trump, the remaining 20% would have to be like 80% Harris, which is unlikely. So they’ve called the election.

Correction, about 20-25 precent are. He’s only got 71 million votes so far in a county of Oct 300 million. Half are just too lazy to fucking do anything about it, even turn out to vote.

I don’t think much people said that; at most that any Russian can be forced their hand by the state.
I’d like to use it as an opportunity to openly shame the people that censored and viciously attacked those that voiced VALID criticisms of Kamala Harris.
She had an easy task: offer voters a left wing platform. What did she do? She offered a platform that was barely distinguishable from Trump’s. She promised to keep the Palestinian genocide going full steam ahead, promised not to even think about Single Payer, promised actually nothing as far as I’m concerned.
She literally could have lied and promised all kinds of things that she would never do and she didn’t even think it was necessary to do that.It is my opinion that she either: A.) thought that running as “not Trump” would win her the Presidency.
B.) knew that it wouldn’t matter if she lost because it would allow her to raise even more funds using scaremongering tactics about Trumpism in the next election cycle.In hindsight, democrats had a horrible strategy letting Biden run the second time. Harris didn’t have much time to present a good platform that would have been her own - she was already the VP, so she couldn’t go directly against Biden, no one would have bought that.
I think Israel/Palestine gets too much attention. An average voter wanted to hear the candidate say they’ll fix immigration and their personal finances. Harris was not terribly vocal on either (although I believe she would have done just fine on both). What Harris did was mainly obtaining celebrity endorsements, while Trump got headlines with his (arguably crazy) policies that appealed to the simpletons.
Do you apply this same logic to Gaza considering their leadership?

I’ve been learning about the history of the Civil War. Progressive politics in America are the exception not the rule, hundreds of thousands of Americans died because they wanted to own other human beings as property.
Alternatively, hundreds of thousands of Americans died because they thought owning other human beings was morally wrong.
Silver lining I guess. But it was more to save the preservation of the Union, there were still slave states in the Union during the Civil War. And non-blacks still thought they were superior to blacks even if they didn’t believe in slavery, and that was the majority opinion long after the Civil war too.
