Posts by President Trump and Elon Musk roiled the space community, raising the prospect of an earlier-than-planned return for the Starliner crew.

    SpaceX Dragon launch in February

To clarify, the Dragon is scheduled to return in February. The Dragon launched back in September, and is currently docked to the ISS.

Crew rotations are usually 6 months. Starliner launched while 4 Dragon-launched astronauts were already on ISS. The next Dragon for a 6 month mission launched with 2 astronauts, leaving 2 seats for the Starliner crew to return on.

        Because that’s NASA’s schedule.

It’s probably returning with things like waste and science results as well as the two astronauts.
