Today, Reddit forcibly removed me (and everyone else) as mods of /r/iOSProgramming, a subreddit of about 130k users. I was keeping the sub private / NSFW to prevent Reddit from monetizing it with ads.
You’re right, they’re pretty different, though you can post from Mastodon to Lemmy I don’t know if you can do the reverse.
As others have said Firefish is a better fit, also Misskey is nice (long live Ai chan!)

Candid Camerait!Mastodon and Lemmy don’t have great interoperability. They use the ActivityPub protocol in ways that are not compatible with each other.
