You guys don’t drunk-order a bunch of useless shit then expect to return it for no cost once buyer’s remorse sinks in?

At the officer’s discretion…
She made a post on Twitter, which millions of people do every day. She wasn’t standing on a soap box in the Town Square. This headline is a major exaggeration of what she said, even.
Everyone is entitled to an opinion. All this discussion about her’s is just a chance to start up the Amy Schumer hate train again.

List your top 5 worst presidents.
So just do what authority tells you to do with no justification, or else violence will be done to you?
In what world should people who are just playing music be subject to violence and arrest?
These are rhetorical questions. I’m not actually interested in your response.
The article i read yesterday just said that the game was over, cops were trying to clear the stadium. They asked the bands to stop playing so that people would leave quicker (?). This band director refused.
It’s been a day since the announcement, and a few hours since people noticed the stock dump. What the fuck do you want them to do? Fully research the case, send out subpoenas, call hearings, listen to testimony and level fines all in less than 24 hours?
Same. I finally got into reading which I’ve been regretting not doing for years. I’ve read 5 scifi novels in the last few months and just dipped my toes into the Discworld series with Mort. I’ve gotten a lot of use out of my kid’s library card lately.
Whenever i find myself doom scrolling lemmy like i would reddit, I’ve gotten in the habit of putting my phone down and reading a chapter of whatever is nearby.
Trying to bump those subscription numbers with teenage girls.
It’s not that fucking serious.
People are already dying in the heat. Remove water breaks and it gets worse. Are you fucking 12?
Not necessarily true as there are entirely different reasons for doing each. Only a bad GM would fudge a hit that actually penalized you. A good GM might fudge a hit to take the story in an interesting direction. Fudging rolls is just another tool in the box.
Another post about this where people didn’t read the article, but jump to anti-American conclusions. This story is about American politicians arguing semantics. The article says that America does contribute to a fund that was agreed upon by many countries in a summit in Egypt. Whether that is fair is debatable, but America is paying in to it.
Every country is refusing to use the term “reparations” because it implies legal guilt, and no country wants to get “sued” by the world.
Again, this is a pointless argument about semantics, and what term to use.
Spoken like someone with an ideological vendetta.
From what i understand it’s not a very involved process. Not like you have to go to court and all that. File a complaint, give your side, they investigate.
If the labor board finds wrongdoing, the worker could be rewarded 2-3x what the lost wages were, and the company gets put on shitlist somewhere.
I am far from an expert, but i do frequent workers rights spaces for what it’s worth (nearly nothing).
In my head i call it the “Rule of least want to do”. If i have 2-3 tasks that need doing (ususlly work related), i think of which thing i least want to do. That’s the thing i get done, then move down the line.
They were burning apartments down with Roman candles. At least in the couple vids i saw.
Don’t know what banning them would accomplish though. Rioters, by definition, are not that concerned with the law.
Ad revenue would pay Mr.Beast. And he’s not even sure it’s competitive with YouTube.
He’s 68, it’s probably more of a Walker with a basket on it. I think identifying him as a “jogger” is a generous term. I assume it’s just an old man walking his dogs around the neighborhood.
