Happens to people all the time on the bayou here, but we probably don’t have conservation instructors, so I suppose the sentence is still unique.
Been on Lemmy for a year and some on .world, but switched to .today to support lemmy decentralization.

Oooh! Oooh! Get him for report abuse now!
I have, but that has nothing to do with my previous comment. My friend, your original post (that you have now edited, don’t move the goalposts just because you want to fight) made broad generalizations. My comment was an attempt to help you learn how to reflect and be critical about your beliefs: I thought that might be something a user with the name “open_mind” would appreciate. Fuck me, right? Well done on showing everyone what an open mind you have. Learn how to question yourself when you feel like fighting and spreading negativity. Just because others didn’t react the way you expected doesn’t make them wrong or bad, and being a dick to someone who was trying to have a constructive conversation is spreading negativity–what you were originally complaining about.
Part of having an open mind is trying to consider your personal biases and where you lack knowledge and expertise. One of the reasons you are getting negative responses is that you stated a very broad generalization that simply isn’t true. Life is not black and white, it is grey and invincible against simple explanations.
Do you think this is just a troll or an actual teen? I don’t want to waste my time on trolls.
Well, if you are never there, then you aren’t there for them. Thus, they will not be there for you in the future, because you haven’t bothered to be there when they needed it.
Of course! I hope you find a way to enjoy Who. It is a lovely universe. The other idea would be to look into Big Finish audio—they do a lot of interesting Who stuff.
Excellent. So far I think I’ve got it… I can see the reports and modlog for the community. I will do my best!
Hey there, I am willing to help, but I’ve never been a mod. I’m a pretty quick learner, but I would need some guidance in the beginning at least. I’m using Tesseract.
If you like the lore but watching it makes you want to stab your eyes out, look into the Target novelisations. They are mostly faithful to what was on the TV, and you get to use your imagination instead of BBC’s production values. They were usually written by the same person who wrote the script. I actually prefer the novels for several stories and was really, really disappointed when I finally had a chance to see them. A big bonus is the Target books are pretty cheap and easy to find used.
It’s definitely something that you have to grow up with. I was lucky to have an uncle who was obsessed with The Fourth Doctor when I was a child, and my love of the show comes from that. I wish some of the older stuff could be redone: it’s unwatchable for many because it was made for an audience who had tiny black and white TVs and a great deal more patience.
At least for me:
Dr. Who (First through Fifth Doctor mostly)
Original Star Trek
Star Trek: TNG
Star Trek: Voyager
Star Trek: DS9
Yeah! I love that!!
We cannot eliminate it: we can only learn how to best live with it. Completely denying the primate part of ourselves only makes it more likely to lash out in ways we don’t want it to, and it can be kind and loving and good if properly cared for. I completely get where you are coming from, and for a long time I tried to deny the primal part of myself, but I just got sick.
I guess what I am trying to say is that if we want to live with conflict, lust, and overcoming terrible odds, trying to eliminate the primate within us isn’t going to accomplish that.
Just like the primate you are, always jumping the gun!
But, yes, so much in the world today can be understood as our technological ability outstripping evolution. Our brains will look at a picture and feel the same feeling as if it was actually there. It is actually kind of amazing there isn’t more insanity around when you think about it.
Holy crap! That is hilarious and awesome. This guy went to a lot of work to edit this together… Part one is 24 hours! I’m set for awhile. Thanks so much.
“Theresa’s Sound World” by Sonic Youth is the first to come to mind. The whole of Daydream Nation could probably count, honestly.
“Everything in its Right Place” by Radiohead (edit: idiot autocorrect) is another one I’ve often taken an audio bath in. Much of that album works too. I just hate the final song.
Yum! Thank you for posting. I will refer to this next time I make some muffins. Which will definitely be sooner now!
Absolutely horrendous. Please never listen to whoever gave you that. I am very serious: that shows such a lack of understanding anything about people, whoever is using this as a teaching material should be fired and banned from working with children. But they won’t, because toxic bullshit like this is what administrators love.
I am really sorry this is your educational experience. It is not supposed to be like this. Introversion and extroversion are just stupid labels that try to make things easy. Those labeled introverts are often the most generous, thoughtful people who actually listen to and cooperate with others.
All the time around here… what, do you think I would just come on the internet and lie?
