It does feel like there’s a new wave of change, I have no idea if it’s due to new reddit refugees or general discontent. But yes, there does seem to be a lot more down voting, more quarrelsome comments, less cohesion within some communities.
There’s also been a few posts sprinkled across instances discussing some accounts that do nothing but down vote. No comments, no posts, just down votes
You’re right. Broken neck during delivery, caused by excessive force from the doctor.
Absolutely horrifying
To be fair, I am also a millennial, but most of my friends were surprised when I told them about that correction I received from the younger generation. I guess that says more about my friends than millennials overall lol
I haven’t worked in retail for over a decade, but that was the biggest fight I kept having with district managers/corporate. They kept telling me to hire more associates for one shift a week, when I already had keyholders and associates who were begging for more hours.
Shit, sometimes I “called out sick” just to give them more hours without letting anyone else know ahead of time. That lack of financial security is not good for morale or productivity, and I hate that the bosses refuse to acknowledge that
I’ve heard from Gen Z that ending a text response with a period is passive aggressive. So “cool” may have seemed glib on its own, but the punctuation might be giving an additional, if unintentional, tone
I’m glad this was the ruling. But will it stand up to appeal? In the 80s federal funding for highways was withheld unless the state complied with the new minimum age for drinking alcohol.
Edit: it was only 10% of the allocated funds, so maybe there is a chance
Uhhh… that thing where people glue little strands of hair to their forehead in an arc
Do you mean styling baby hairs?
I have a hard time believing they didn’t know of and weren’t complicit in the attack on Iran. They just diverted an arms shipment from Ukraine to Israel that specifically are claimed to counter Iranian drones
Edit: I saw it was to Israel on the BBC I think, but this article says otherwise
I never understood why anyone local drove through it. Tourists I can understand, but it’s a drive it once and “holy cow that was a bad idea” experience
Oh, yeah. I didn’t mean to imply that getting a job with a disability is easy or that employers actually follow laws. I was more trying to point out that a personality disorder is a disability, because most people won’t see it that way

My therapist told me that a diagnosis of a mental health disorder means you have a disability*. So if they choose not to hire you because of your ASPD diagnosis, in the US at least, that’s discrimination against a protected class. I have AvPD, and that was a concern for me too
*(although many disorders don’t always earn the label “disability” when a person is seeking benefits)
I’m 5’3 (160cm) and feel like I am invisible to trucks when I’m in a parking lot. It also feels like they’ve doubled their height (or more) over the last ten-15 years
High pH is basic btw. I’m assuming you meant low pH with the reference to soda
My acid reflux has nothing to do with acidic or basic foods, and everything to do with the ratio of fat I’ve eaten or how many alcoholic drinks I’ve had in an evening. Beer is about a hundred times less acidic than soda (for reference) and soda doesn’t set my reflux off
My point is that human bodies are weird and we react in weird ways to food. That’s why we have to trial foods
Millions of American people with Irish ancestry fly or even have the Irish flag tattooed on themselves. They even flew it in protests and marches last year over how Biden responded to the genocide in Gaza, but I’m sure that’s totally different
Maybe you can use a reloadable visa card?
They shouldn’t be allowed to use less than lethal rounds. I’d prefer no armed police, but the less than lethal aspect especially makes them emboldened to shoot without any consideration. What goes through someone’s head when they shoot a person who made the mistake of falling down? “easy target”?
That woman might be lucky if she survives, and without brain damage, and it really turns my stomach that they didn’t have the decency to call for an ambulance
I like to wear them in places with fluorescent lighting, but some people really get uncomfortable with that. Sometimes I imagine they must be feeling the same thing I feel when I need to make eye contact during a long conversation
I struggled with night terrors from PTSD for a long time. Developed a binge drinking habit to try and cope, because I didn’t want to sleep anymore and had to knock myself out.
Eventually I was able to get help. Two years with the right therapist (many more trying to find her) and I actually only get night terrors once a month or so now. That might sound like a lot, but weeks of refreshing sleep between episodes makes life so much easier to live. Things have taken a slight dive since the start of the year, but I know once politics and security are stable again I’ll be okay. Being able to rephrase my brain from “torturing” me to “coping any way it can” has helped, but I think the journey to dealing with nightmares is different for everyone
