Eh, but how do we rank if you are flush with disposable income?
I loved how immediately taken in by it he was. Pure bewilderment.
Bump
It’s pretty bad. The best one was… “If they didn’t want us driving there then there wouldn’t be a road there!!”
Oblivious to how change can occur.
No one would be mad if you posted screenshots.
Downtown Northville in the winter was the bomb. Cozy up by a fireplace. Eat in a private cabin. Walk around with a warm beverage.
The real kicker is the lady in the interview. They want to kill the whole thing… Which world be awful. I love having a safe area to walk, hang and eat with my family and dogs. That’s now in jeopardy.
Housing prices don’t crash. Not really. People don’t want to take the loss. The nominal price may stay flat and the real price may go down as a result… That feels more likely
WoW: ill never forget it. This was BC expansion and as a Druid I had just recently unlocked flight as part of a huge questline. I was hopping around mining nodes farming for my Jeweler profession when I encountered a Druid nightelf. They had the upgraded bird form (320% speed vs 60%). I must have pissed this guy off or he was bored but he was just stalking me. Eventually he starts fighting me and we had a substantial level difference. I think he was 70 and I was 60. He was going to kill me but eventually I escaped out of combat into bird form. Of course he’s several times faster than I am. I had a sliver of health and a single moonfire would’ve killed me. I am just holding down space bar… Climbing into the sky. He fires off his moon fire. It should have killed me, but as luck would have it my headpiece gem had a 1% chance to reflect a spell. I had to read the combat logs to figure out what happened, but the spell hit him. The damage caused him to lose bird form and as he was now in combat he plummeted to his death. I landed. Danced around his corpse and went on my way. I could not believe what had just happened.
It’s not even a freedom to travel… It’s a requirement. You want to live in area where you don’t need need a car? Only a few cities in America make that reality possible. If you want/have to live/work anywhere else… You need a car. That’s not freedom. Also those places where you don’t need a car are very expensive to live in.
Its not a lack of rails and light rails… It’s a lack of local transportation that’s fast and reliable.
People actually use the bus system in Ann Arbor because it runs on time, frequently and is clean. I’m all for a transportation haven but a lot of cities can’t even walk and are trying to run.
Detroits Q Line is a good example of running before you can walk. The bus system is god awful. Late. No shows. Generally unreliable. Then they just slapped a thing on top of it that’s probably even less reliable…
A solved problem on a handful of luxury cars. We are years away from this feature being commonplace unless a law is passed.
Also, they are legal. https://www.motorauthority.com/news/1135084_us-finally-allows-use-of-modern-matrix-headlights
As an American, it may have started with macho, but now it’s about safety. I drive a Volt and am frequently blinded by SUVs and Trucks in my rear view. If a 250 hits me… I’m probably dead.
Until legislation is passed limiting the height of a vehicle a regular person can drive there will never be any change. Maybe also height restrictions in certain lanes or regions would help.
Special licenses and restrictions on where we allow these cars is the only way forward.
More people. More problems. Crimes happen where people are.
Agreed
I’d argue that people can only pay what they can pay. They won’t pay extra, they’ll buy smaller homes with smaller valuations to keep their payments reasonable. If you can’t afford to put up another 1k/month then you won’t.
Again, people can afford to move just not for their established QoL. If you own a 4bd house in a good school district are you going to downgrade to a 3bdrm in an ok district? Maybe? Probably not unless the money is good.
Also rich people aren’t buying homes with mortgages. They are just buying them with cash… Or putting so much down that their mortgage is reasonable.
