I hope to see more distros do this. Strongly considering buying a Pro license just to support them for doing the right thing. Screw Mozilla.

Spongebob: Battle for Bikini Bottom is a great one. Colorful, fun, complex enough that he can grow with but simplistic enough for him to have fun without constantly needing help.
You CAN but it’s a matter of time before you’ll have to upgrade to 11 or go 100% Linux because drivers and game clients eventually stop supporting EoL operating systems.
Awesome, thanks for the tips! Just have to figure out a way to transfer the screenshots to my PC though, as I only sign in to gaming accounts on my Deck.
How do you get these screenshots? I’d show mine but have no idea how to capture the game mode UI.
Probably Plasma because it’s familiar and you’re able to customize it extensively over time.
That’s certainly an option for anyone who has tried Linux and is unable to use it for one way or the other.
Problem is, many haven’t tried Linux for one reason or another and they continue to complain about stuff like this without even trying to move away from Windows.
You realize that PC stands for “Personal Computer”, right? As in MY computer. My property. I should be free to use a local account without issue. I should be free to value my privacy.
This is why Linux is growing faster than ever. It actually understands what personal computing is.
Native Linux support is always preferable if the developer can handle it or has the budget to do so. However, as long as it works well via Proton, that’s the important part. I don’t follow him anymore due to several reasons but Gardiner Bryant has a video about this, it’s a pretty solid watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uScsmjvdwyo
Love to see it. I haven’t used MS Office in well over a decade at this point and I have no plans to go back. LibreOffice is fantastic, suits all my needs, doesn’t pack itself with bloat and it respects my freedom and privacy. What more can I want from an office suite?
Mint would probably be the safest bet. You could also take a look at Manjaro XFCE, though Manjaro is a bit more advanced than what it sounds like you’re looking for. There’s also Zorin OS with their “lite” version which runs a modified XFCE that would probably work for your needs.
However, if you go for Mint, I’d definitely go for XFCE. I’ve never used labwc myself and I’m more of a Plasma guy, but XFCE is, in my own experience, a very good DE for a low-spec system. With the increasing spread of Wayland, I wouldn’t be shocked to see Wayland support on XFCE in the future. Cinnamon actually has an experimental Wayland version and it’s not as resource-heavy as some might think I have a 2012 laptop running Mint Cinnamon and it runs surprisingly well on that system. Then again, if you’re just going for a minimalist installation, it’s not necessary.
We seriously need to ditch console exclusivity. No consoles today (other than the ones Valve has made/are working on) are even remotely worth having exclusives for. Just let people play games on whatever platform they prefer.
Yes, because using a web browser is bigotry 😂 It’s cool if you don’t like it but at least have legitimate reasons for not liking it.
I don’t care for Hollywood in the least but this isn’t a positive development. Influencer culture really needs to die. I’d much rather see people switch to markets like anime and K-drama, as both of those are largely still packed to the brim with good art.
Those reasons are all pretty goofy in my book. I use Brave on a daily basis on all my PCs. Only browser out there that offers both good privacy and actual usability. Plus, the first issue in the article is literally a nonissue for me and I actually personally really like the leadership at the company.
What’s wrong is that we’re on the Fediverse and many here write off Brave because the founder is “homophobic” because he’s a conservative Christian. Sure, they make up all sorts of shallow justifications like “it’s a crypto scam” but it definitely boils down to the “homophobic” whining.
