It’s usually that you were the first to try to access the channel from your instance. So your instance has to federate with the other instance, which can take a while to fully take place (and I think that it only tries to get pre-federation content on request). I think that if you tried again, you should now see some content.
Ok, I tested commenting, and comments actually appear on the PeerTube side (https://tilvids.com/w/41f5284e-b79e-4c84-97e5-664a6ac5a1ee shows my comment). On the lemmy side, only my comment appears (https://lemmy.ml/post/1979848)
I’m not sure what’s going on with comments. Existing comments on peertube don’t seem to show up on Lemmy.
You may need to wait for your instance to retrieve the content.
Peertube channels seem to show up like communities in Lemmy. For example: [email protected]
No, I don’t think so. I still think that it requires a different phone number on each phone. But I agree with you that it is annoying that they do not allow it, especially since they could simply imitate the functionality that exists on the desktop apps.
I mainly use Signal, but sometimes have to fall back to SMS for people that aren’t on Signal. I also have matrix accounts, but I never really use them since I don’t have anyone among my friends and family that uses matrix.
This. It makes it much more unlikely to see tons of reposts, and as such it will be easier to see new interesting stuff.
Sad but true 😢
