thank you. long live the lepidopterans!
Can somebody explain the comment? They all look like butterflies, not moths
She was the one who was deemed a security threat, but the child was not allowed to re-enter Germany even when they appealed (thr appeal got delayed since a judge ruled it wasn’t urgent). Make it make sense
I don’t see a microscope
wait what? Complete opposite for me. When I was in school I would hang out after school all the time. Work days are much longer and I have other responsibilities so now it’s more rare to have time.
I thought the whole point of lawyers was that everybody gets one? Is there any shame in defending El Chapo?
Most programmers are interacting with containers these days.
The real question is why their build is taking so long.
The difference is that Trump also abolished the rule of law. It’s law and order without the law, and without the order.
Good thing the phone number is censored
Is this some sort of bash/zsh joke that I’m too fish to understand?
Okay I can see how curating could work. But if you’re lazy like me, I recommend this:
But will waging war actually liberate Iran? Doesn’t that strengthen extremist powers?
I’m not asking rhetorical questions, but making it worse to make it better sounds like accelerationism and I’ve always been told that doesn’t work
There is a similar rule applying to haha well. lets justr say.
Wait the Brits? Not the English? Ireland is part of the British Isles, doesn’t that make them Brits too?
with a moustache no less
The thing is, once car-centrism is established and normalized, it’s so hard to explain to people what the real problem is. Clearly the kid did a stupid thing and ran into the road when it shouldn’t. Clearly the driver had no bad intentions.
But somehow the thought never occurs to people that kids (and adults) will always be stupid and we shouldn’t strive to make a world where nobody makes mistakes. We should strive to make a world where making mistakes doesn’t kill you.
Look it really doesn’t matter what some crazy people thought in 1580 or 1844. Trying to condemn the entire modern-day nation of Israel and its inhabitants is on par with calling all of Gaza terrorists.
I’m not saying Israel doesn’t have deeply rooted colonialism nor that we shouldn’t study its history, but making blanket judgements about entire peoples based on random historical nitpicks, is the weapon of the enemy.
My brain when I just got told something important
I mean I guess in theory they could be sending the password to the backend and validating it against your hash? In reality I doubt anybody would do that tho as it’s a huge load on the server
You’re not wrong but that’s not quite decentralization, that’s just not building a walled garden, but retaining the power to put up walls at any point. If most users are on BlueSky, then BlueSky retains the power. If they decide to end support of AT or to extend (break) it, they keep their user base while everything else is left in the dust.
This is why people are saying not to create an account on mastoson.social - it’s getting too big. And mastodon.social is run by a non-profit, whereas BlueSky is a for-profit company. True decentralization and federation are against their interests.
