  • I installed antigravity when i was looking into agentic coding.

I asked it to fix a bug in a game i was working on as a side project.
It took 4 hours, asked for permission maybe twice and then was like “hey here’s my slop version of the game that I assumed you wanted me to waste 500 African families’ weekly fresh water supply on 3 data centers to code based on the vague notion you told me you were looking to do when i asked you what you were up to”.

The bug was still there, along with i don’t even know how many new ones. This actually happened. I still have the game.

  • Nothing wrong with escaping here and there if responsibilities are fulfilled.

The problem is when escapism becomes the purpose of living.

The great lie of western culture is that we are first and foremost, individuals and we should strive for maximum freedom i.e. our purpose is to be free. Let’s take a look at the people in the world that can afford maximum freedom and have no practical accountability and see how/what they’re doing… yeah…

Purpose is important. If purpose strays too far away from “the best for others”, bad things start happening really fast.

  • American culture is stuck in adolescence because culture has shifted towards the complete annihilation of any and all significant rites of passage into adulthood.

A child is someone that needs to be told what they can and can’t do.
An adolescent is someone who tests the limits of what they can and can’t do.
An adult is someone who enforces socially responsible limits of what they themselves and others can and can’t do.

Never telling people “these are now your responsibilities towards others and we all expect you to take them seriously” in an in-equivocal ceremonial way is how you destroy a society.

  • Look I’m not gonna lie. I didn’t read the whole thing (again), but umm… you wouldn’t happen to know what the best darknet markets are nowadays would you? Or umm…

Ok so honest answer: I’m not a US citizen but AFAIK mostly drug dealers and criminals pay large amounts in cash. I suppose a common exception might be strippers. Some businesses and landlords won’t bat an eye to getting paid a few thousand in cash and will just be glad to take the money, and they’ll be smart enough to not ask any questions… Just like you’d be smart enough to delete this post if you’re doing anything the US gov might not be so hot on.

You’ll likely get better answers (and less visibility) about this topic on dread than on lemmy.
