You are looking at this vote the wrong way around. Voting for the bill meant voting for the derogation of chat control, i.e. voting against chat control. The reason chat control passed isn’t because the majority voted “for” chat control, it’s because not enough voted “against” in a move where if less than 361 voted for the derogation it would automatically be reinstated.
Tons, I know tons. Some of them even get into the cultural zeitgeist as jokes. For example in Final Fantasy VII they translated “Your party is waiting for you on the second floor” as “Su fiesta le espera en el pisos 2” (if you don’t understand Spanish, they translated party/group as party/celebration)

jobs
huh, I wonder what kind of jobs fit that description. Maybe fireworks expert?
The study used artificial intelligence to compare health records from 10,000 U.S. military veterans
Ah, so not “jobs” in the wide sense, and also in a population more prone to anger issues
I did read your response. And if the rest of Americans think like you the situation is more dire than I thought.
Believing the word of a clearly demented fascist that will be in charge of the world’s biggest military, the joke writes itself. And that’s after you already had 4 years of trump.
And you believed him? You believed Trump’s word? LOL
Why would you believe voting for Trump was voting against wars? It makes no sense

Yes, especially right now. Reddit is revoking API keys that made third party reddit apps work. And the reddit app sucks, switching to that is a lot of friction so the friction of switching to Lemmy will be smaller

Fuck that. Name and shame. They can’t get away with this

In Japan, the conviction rate when something goes to trial is 99%. The main reason for this is that prosecutors will never bring a case to trial if they are not 100% sure they can win it. This of course has a lot of problems, from difficult to prove crimes like rape never going to trial, to the presumption of innocence when you sit in front of the judge being practically nil, to prosecutors doing everything in their power to convict after a trial starts even if it turns out they were wrong (even by withholding evidence).
Those are the reasons “innocent until proven guilty” is such an important concept to have, and it’s completely incompatible with assuming “the accused is more often than not guilty”

Like the time Indiana legislatively redefined pi to be exactly 3.2?

I don’t understand what problem you are referring to, all that already works on the old steam controller. It has Bluetooth mode

Exactly. So many opinions of people that have clearly never really used the previous steam controller flying around. It’s a repeat of when that one came out and reviewers panned it because they didn’t understand what it could do

I say let’s keep it unbanned, but matadores now have to go into the ring empty fisted and no picadores are allowed so that they can’t whittle down at the Bull’s capabilities. Just a 1 on 1 match to the death with both “athletes” at peak performance

Yes, exactly. Because this has never been about “fairness” or “fighting a worthy fight” as supporters of corridas like to pretend. it’s just about slowly torturing to death an animal in front of a live audience.

Weird, I see no mention of this “US”, how are we supposed to know?

Of course it’s “technically” correct, but I’m a bit tired of Spain being known for bullfighting and people not realizing that it’s actually very unpopular here.
Like also tourist shops in Barcelona still sell bullfighting related articles, even if corridas were actually legally banned for many years in Catalonia (ban reversed by the conservative constitutional court years later). It just shows that this shit is still something people think about when thinking of Spain

It’s just a phrase. For positive stuff you say “couldn’t have happened to a better/nicer person” so that’s the opposite. I can think of quite few worse people that’d deserve to be gored by a bull

Are you in Canarias? Because in Catalonia, where it was banned, the constitutional court reversed the ban as punishment for the independence movement (while leaving the canaries ban standing, clear double standard). So it’s sadly not officially banned in Catalonia any more, but of course no corridas actually happen as they’d get no money from the Generalitat.
Sounds bad, throw the book at them
