  • It’s incredibly remote, flying from the US it’ll take you about 24 hours to set foot on Bora Bora proper but you’ll be in Tahiti in like ~18 hours if you leave from the west coast, so no it’s definitely not accessible basically at all, but you can boat between the islands to a degree once you get there. The ancient Polynesians and their methods for crossing vast distances over water truly are awe inspiring.


  • I got married in Bora Bora, it was after I spent six months in the ICU and we said fuck it we getting married, going on vacation and honeymooning all at once - Bora Bora is paradise on earth and one of the very few places I’ve ever been, along with Corsica where the hype and reality actually matched. It’s remote enough there’s not really any “overly touristy” issues, especially on bora bora which is not the main island of Tahiti. I’m sure Maupiti is absolutely incredible but there’s literally not a single reason to not go to bora bora
