Podcasts are already hosted by a variety of independent services. Google doesn’t host any podcasts, at least as far as I am aware. In this case it really is a frontend-only problem.
It has always been this way as far as I can remember. Might be because I grew up in Hamburg?
But I can imagine that it has gotten way worse over the years and I just didn’t notice because it’s a slow change.

I love kubernetes. At the start of the year I installed k3s von my VPS and moved over all my services. It was a great learning opportunity that also helped immensely for my job.
It works just as well as my old docker compose setup, and I love how everything is contained in one place in the manifests. I don’t need to log in to the server and issue docker commands anymore (or write scripts / CI stages that do so for me).
You could still do the bottom picture inside.
That’s fascinating, here in Germany it’s the opposite, at least in my experience. Everyone I know who is vegetarian or vegan (including me) tends to lean more left than those who eat meat.

Same. It looks and feels like “my first flutter app”. I switched to Thunder, which is also made with flutter, but is much more pleasant to use.
I was gonna call you out on 18 years being way too long ago… Then I realized that 2005 was, in fact, 18 years ago. I feel old now.
It does have a feature now that kind of works like a forum. If you go to one of these channels it shows a list of posts, and each post can be commented on separately. But that’s it, it doesn’t even come close to reddit or lemmy.
It has also improved a lot in the last years. PHP5 and especially versions older than that weren’t very good and deserved a lot of the criticism. PHP7 and onward are much better languages and don’t deserve the hate.
