A couple of junkies who are nodding out in public still have the same rights to freedom and self determination as anyone else. You’re just advocating for more of the same war on drugs, brutalising marginalised people. After so many years it should be obvious that shit does not work.
Fentanyl is dangerous because it’s so strong that the difference between a survivable dose and one that’s fatal is very small. But the drug itself when properly administered isn’t harmful and has therapeutic use.
However people with opiate addictions will use pretty much anything to prevent them getting sick, including stuff that can have horrible health consequences. Krokodil comes to mind, or temazepam jellies, but I’m sure there are other examples. Thank fuck I’m clean now.
And in quality. Seems like a lot of food items are using cheaper ingredients.

So completely overlooking the overlying political situation and just thinking about this incident - it’s fuckin horrible.
I’ve been at a whole lot of techno parties back in the day and just imagining these events triggers a real wince in my soul. Remember being off your head at a really good party with your mates and your partner and then imagine this shit happening. I mean, a fuckin rave is pretty much the opposite of a military target.
I’m thinking there’s a lot of criticisms to make on both sides of this conflict and a lot of comments here are focusing on that and overlooking the fucking horror of this incident right here.

I agree that there are some crimes so horrible that the offenders no longer deserve to live. The trouble is that I don’t trust police and the courts to correctly identify the guilty all of the time. Until there’s a system that can prove guilt with 100% accuracy we shouldn’t have a death penalty.
A while back round where I live a guy was burned to death by a mob of his neighbours because people were saying he was a pedophile. Turned out he had only been taking photos of kids vandalising his garden. Oops.
Oh sure, that shouldn’t be considered a sex crime unless an adult is manipulating a child into sending them pics, in which case only the adult should be charged with anything.
I don’t really think it’s bizarre. Sex crimes and consensual sex are two very different things. The issue here is that some people seem to be facing consequences that last a lifetime for ‘crimes’ that seem pretty insignificant. But if someone raped another person you’d expect them to face consequences even if they are underage when committing the offence.
I know it kinda sounds like a broken record when people say this but it’s still true - the problem is capitalism.

Here in England there’s a guy I work with who’s taking six months off soon to go to Thailand. Thing is, we’re working for the local authority and they’re pretty good about holidays and sick pay because the wages aren’t very competitive and they need to retain staff.
Yeah, right. Back in the days when we were all on forums I got to know a bunch of regulars who contributed on a local site. Eventually we started meeting up and I had a similar experience to what you’re describing. I even slept with one of them that first time we all met, we’d been chatting on the forum for over a year and felt like we knew each other well enough for that to be a possibility. Now that I think about it, this is pretty much the principle behind internet dating and that seems to work well enough to have become an industry. I’ve done that in the past too - you can absolutely build a relationship online and people do it all the time.
I feel sorry for the guy who has to search his ass for contraband.
I mean, people paid to attend trump ‘university’. There are always plenty of fools who will buy stupid shit. I kind of feel sorry for the students though. Most people are pretty young at university age and many are still forming their perspectives. Getting away from home and meeting new people is an important part of this. Plenty of people from conservative families go away to uni and start to see that they’ve been brought up on bullshit. This is an attempt to stop that from happening - the ‘anti-woke’ shit will attract more conservative students which will reduce the chance that any of them will encounter different views and cultures so they stay in their ignorance bubble. Don’t want little Johnny or Jane coming home from school an anarchist! It’s sad for the students though who will come away in massive debt with a useless degree and have less opportunity for healthy change.
