I constantly bring up school lunch programs but I get downvoted on sites like this because I choose unpopular context. For example, Biden spent money on something, I say - he could have funded school lunches, but instead lunch ladies get to go back to collecting food debt.
When you’re struggling to feed your kids, yeah, mine is on the list. That doesn’t mean I don’t help other people but our government taxes the struggling and literally sets cash on fire as a thank you.
I only have an associate’s degree which was very affordable and I worked thru school but I guess I get to help pay for those who took on a lot more debt. If that had been on the table maybe I’d have gotten more education.
He isn’t though.
Democrats passed the ACA without any Republican support. They should have passed MFA then. It was terrible and made my life much harder at the time. It’s better now, but barely. My wife has a low paying government job and her health insurance costs went up significantly more than her 2% raise. Both of us took cuts in net pay while food, property taxes and seemingly everything else went up. What have Dems done about housing, pay, taxes, food costs in the last term? Nothing. Oh, Biden got one drug to be cheaper. But I’m not a diabetic. Yet.
You want Biden to start WWIII before he leaves office?
I wish he’d fund meals for kids in schools with that money. We did it for awhile right after COVID but now lunch ladies have to go back to collecting food debt.
My wife and I found a joint in a graduation card 17 years after it was given. We hadn’t been smoking for a handful of years, but we still lit that up. Granted, our tolerances were low, but it had been top notch NorCal flower originally and it still worked and tasted just fine. I’d try some wooly mammoth weed.
I can appreciate that you want them available but I’d love not to be forced to have one. My fingers are too large for those tiny things.
There’s research on this, it’s a confirmed human behavior. People park and sit etc near others. So good luck changing human nature.
Everyone in my area stays outside, no matter the weather. No kids knock on any doors. Also, no one leaves out a bowl, that shit would be gone in minutes. But people are outside with portable fire rings, music, some have cocktails for the adults. It’s the only night of the year all of the neighbors are outside and socializing. Honestly it’s great.
I grew up on the southeast side of Portland. When I was 10, I rode my bike to Multnomah Falls and across the river into Washington State. I moved away just before my 11th birthday so I’m very confident about my age. I also rode all around Portland. Into downtown, down to Lake Oswego, over to my aunt’s in Gresham…
The worst thing that ever happened was an older kid on a bike came up next to me and tried to push me off of my bike, but it didn’t work and I took off and he was chasing me. I wove thru traffic and parked cars at a shopping center and he ended up slamming into a parked car at full speed. :)
