They’ve already demonstrated they can get it in orbit. The fact that they’ve not done it for this mission was intentional, not a limitation. They wanted the ship back, they didn’t want it sitting around in orbit doing nothing being in the way. They don’t actually have a mission for it yet, its mission is to prove that it works, so if they put it in orbit then what?

The whole point is that once it’s in orbit it has virtually no fuel on board, because that’s how they get around the rocket equation, they do fuel transfer on orbit. So in the testing scenario they would have a vehicle with virtually no maneuvering capabilities parked in a stable orbit more or less forever. Eventually its orbit would decay and it would uncontrollably into the Earth, which I think we can all agree is a bad thing.

Why you continuously talking about AI you’re the only one talking about AI here I’m talking about power load in general. And what you can do is irrelevant because you aren’t the only human on the earth. Lots of people are not in a position to put solar panels on their roof so their load has to be supplied from the national national grid. Where does that energy come from at night?

Base load is the amount of charge that you need in the system to deal with just basic usage. This includes powering your computer so you can post incoherent rents on the internet. Something I assume you think is very important.

Without base load when it’s night and not windy all the power goes out, I assume you would think that was inconvenient even though you are not a mega corporation.

Now rather than trying to deflect answer the question how do we supply fundamental power when the sources are renewable are not operating and don’t say we can store it in batteries because we can’t not at that capacity.

The last time they had to do anything important they stoled all the sensitive data in plain text in an Excel spreadsheet and then the spreadsheet got corrupted so they lost everything. Of course they didn’t have backups.

I think you actually have to buy a passkey device. Then configure it to work with a particular account.

You plug the passkey into your computer and then whenever it asks for a password you literally touch it and it does its thing. I think there are options like biometrics that you can add on top but you don’t have to have that.

The landing pad wasn’t really at risk. If they had hit it it would have been relatively low speed, by the time it was at the catch attempt it was at like 30 km/h or something. Hitting a big steel object at that speed would have probably done more damage to the booster than anything else

It’s difficult for the average person to really understand why this is a major innovation. Showed this to my parents and my dad’s comment was “haven’t they already done this?”. If you don’t realize it’s a different rocket it does look basically the same as what they’ve been doing for years now.

Elon Musk is working on the cars though. They look like they’ll handle like the 2077 cars as well.

What about base load then. It’s all well and good building shit tons of solar panels and wind farms but sometimes you need energy and the sun isn’t shining and it isn’t windy. What do you do then?

That’s why we need base load and I’d rather the base load came from nuclear than from fossil fuels, as I’m sure you would too, but you seem to be anti-nuclear as well, so what do you want?

I wonder if NASA would ever bring back the space plane idea they had before the space shuttle plan got co-opted by a bunch of interest groups and turned into the boondoggle that it became.

The best thing for humanity now would be for multiple people to develop reusable spacecraft. For greater chance that someone will land on a new innovation.

Even BMW has come out with a more original car design for an automated vehicle that has the seats facing each other and a table in the middle for a more communal experience. It also had a screen instead of a front window, because obviously if the car’s driving itself you don’t need to be able to see outside.

If you’re building a robot then the humanoid shape is a fairly good shape to use because the world is already designed for things of that shape. Doors, corridors, and staircases all assume a bipedal body of about 6 ft high. So inevitably robots are going to look humanoid.

If the robot is designed to work underwater then it probably isn’t going to look humanoid it’ll probably look like a fish but I don’t think the fish can sue.

That’s what futuristic cars always look like. I don’t think you can sue for unoriginality.

That’s a problem though because the movie isn’t in a piece of original work. It’s based on the book by the same title by Isaac Asimov. I assume it’s out of copy right now not really sure.

Anyway the point is neither the movie nor anything Elon Musk may or may not have done is the original work and since the original work has been replicated many times it’s fairly obvious no one owns the copyright. Much like how no one owns the copyright to the tripods in war of the worlds anymore which is why there’s been so many adaptations over the years.

Perhaps if they deleted all of the unnecessary user data they’ve collected they’d be able to consolidate it down to something reasonable
