4·28 days agoafaik its questionably centered on self-hosting, although anonymous might be called an advocate of digital rights. The title is a bit mysterious, but it is kind of fitting to the text and not “cherry picking”. It just is not very informative, either.

It’s like getting children. You only know afterwards how it really feels and even if it’s a hassle sometimes you wouldn’t ever change back.

91·2 months agoAre AI and AGI the same now? Is there a new theory of “just has to be big enough”? That would explain americas self-destructive planning of datacenters.
I for one would immediately switch on an AGI, i think even a 20% probability for a benevolent AGI is acceptable, compared with what humanity is doing.

This kind of makes sense, i guess. We don’t feel it much because a) earth is smoll and b) we mostly stay on its surface and keep the distance. Is that about right?
