No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•How do I re-establish peaceful relations with a family of crows?English
0·2 months agoI was watering the garden and sheepishly decided to spray a crow (not my finest moment). It started dive bombing me regularly. So I gave it some banana and we were chill after that. It only took one offering. You could try giving it some soft material for it’s nest.
I love listening to CBC (the Canadian NPR). It makes me feel more connected to my community, keeping up to date with local news I would not otherwise have known.
Also university and coop radio stations are great for discovering new music.
I suppose “expensive” is a relative term. It’s expensive for me, especially when the alternative is free.
I have used Kagi quite a bit, and while I love it, I stopped using it.
- It’s expensive.
- They don’t contribute to the open internet in any way. Its a closed product.
If either of these things weren’t true I’d probably still be paying for it.

World News@lemmy.ml•‘You are all worse than each other’: anti-regime Iranians turn on TrumpEnglish
217·4 months agoYa of course, but Iranians mostly hate the regime. I’ve never seen anybody so happy about somebody’s death as my Persian friend when the leader was killed. I’m not making any excuses about US actions. Fuck them but also fuck the regime.

215·4 months agoHave you ever met an Iranian? They hate their government. Just look at their recent protests. I have no idea how they feel about the US right now, but they hate the regime.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•What's your opinion on Ubiquiti/Unifi gear?English
2·5 months agoHow is this a good thing? Getting extremely rich selling products to the Russian military despite sanctions?
I’ll be avoiding Unifi products until they stop doing this.

6·6 months agoSerious question. I’ve seen a few posts now about self-hosting PDF managers. Why is this useful? Why not just open a PDF application when I need to work with PDF?
Seems ripe for a Grandmaster Flash remix.

In the realm of miniseries, Band of Brothers is much watch.
