They tried that at one of my jobs as well. A bunch of us refused to install it on our personal phones. Management started floating the idea of getting work phones for those people. Came in and asked how many of us would like a work phone instead of installing the app on our phones. They were not prepared for how many of us raised our hands. Never heard anything about it again.
I also grew up nearby. My first and only time driving in NYC was for work. I was 19 and my boss was having a bunch of us go renovate his wife’s apartment in Brooklyn so he could rent it out. So we all meet at the shop and proceed to follow him to the city.
This fucking asshole starts driving like he’s in a race in his brand new jeep suv, I’m in an old ass work van. I managed to keep sight of him till we got to the Lincoln tunnel before he just disappeared. When I finally got through the tunnel I had no fucking idea where to go. It was the early days of smartphones and Google maps was just useless inside the city. It took me a few hours to get to this guy’s apartment. Trying to figure out the city with all the traffic was stressful as fuck. Finally somehow find my way to the apartment and this asshole starts berating me.
I should have called him a stupid asshole but being a shy anxious 19 year old I just apologized and took it.
There’s another old South Park where the adults are wasted at a meteor watching party. The cops show up because they think it’s a suicide cult and start shooting people leaving the party.

The Democratic primaries in my state are held in a rural town that’s a 2 hour drive away which contains about 2 % of the state population, instead of 1 of the main cities. They’re also held during the week.

I Fucking hate turbo tax. They’ve gotten so intertwined in our tax system from all their lobbying. I couldn’t find my w2 for an employer I quit in July, after some research I found out my former employer just automatically gives turbotax all their w2s. I didn’t even want to do my taxes with them because I know about their bullshit but had to log in so I could get my w2 from turbo tax to take it somewhere else. I bet they get a lot of people that are just like “my w2 is here I’ll just do it with them”.

I had a safety thing about a year ago and at the end it asked a question the the effect of " there’s broken glass on the shop floor, what should you do" . I picked the option to use a broom and dust pan but apparently the correct tool for glass clean up is a pair of tongs…
