Actually I endorse the fact that we are less shy of calling “AI” algorithms that do exhibit emergent intelligence and broad knowledge. AI uses to be a legitimate name for the field that encompasses ML and we do understood a lot of interesting things about intelligence thanks to LLMs nowadays, like the fact that training on next-word-prediction is enough to create pretty complex world models, that transformer architectures are capable of abstraction or that morality arise naturally when you try to acquire all the pre-requisites to have a normal discussion with a human.

  • That’s really interesting! It shows which communities share users. I am part of jlai.lu, a french-speaking community that is relatively isolated by also slrpnk.net that seems very spread out!

Would it make sense to compute the standard deviation of each instance’s communities? It would give an idea of which are islands and which are more extended. Not sure if it makes sense to compute it more on 2 dimensions or on the original 21934 though.

    /r/france mod. Not booted (yet).

Not super available but I can help people show how we used to set it up in /r/france

It is not rocket science: Anyone could start an AMA but mods would automatically sticky a message with the “proof status” of OP. Usually people asked the mods beforehands on how to check proof but not always

The sticky would be saying “OP provided proof”/“OP did not provide proof, it may still be legit, but know we can’t check if it is true”.
