It’s more that he thinks the left can’t do ”real hard working jobs”. Jobs that require university education doesn’t count as ”real” to them.

Technology@lemmy.world•ChatGPT's market share slips below 50% for first timeEnglish
13·8 days agoFor those who didn’t read past the headline: OpenAI is still growing, but competition is growing faster.
The joke is that slopgen images tend to have the monitors in the wrong way
The problem with C++ is that it has so many odd quirks that are difficult to learn. Sometimes these quirks are addressed - at the expense of adding new stupid quirks you need to learn.

”Our plan is to continuously make up new shit along the way and hope we eventually get something we can deliver”
Suggestion: instead of doing all that directly, the button adds these instructions to the SKILLS file and hope some AI take the bait one day.

PC Gaming@lemmy.ca•What happened to (arcade-type) Joysticks?English
30·1 month agoIt’s kind of like getting a steering wheel. The amount of games where it actually makes things better is limited. Unless you’re an enthusiast of a particular genre, a gamepad is good enough.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why are some things heavier than others?
0·1 month agoAlso, an atom is mostly empty space. So there’s lots of room for an atom to increase its number protons/neutrons without increasing its size.

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•It's kinda amazing that wojack/soyjack and pepe memes have endured as long as they have, rage faces were already on their way out when they were this old
81·1 month agoIt’s amazing what a journey Pepe has taken. From being associated with the 2015 MAGA movement to being a symbol of 2019 Hong Kong protests.
I thought the associations with the alt right movement would’ve killed Pepe as a meme, but he managed to wash those bad associations away.

Programmer Humor@programming.dev•Kind of impressive when you think about it
16·1 month agoThey also had Internet Explorer. When it was released it was actually good (compared to the competition). Internet Explorer was dominant, but then it turned into the punching bag of web browser memes.

77·1 month agoTheir idea was that OpenAI was so far ahead of the competition no one could ever catch up. Turns out they weren’t and now they’re at the bottom.
If the hype is real, then there will be nothing to catch up to. All the ”secret techniques” will quickly be irrelevant as the technology is streamlined. Writing CLAUDE or SKILL files manually will be a thing of the past. It will figure it out itself.
Not really. I’m not really using LLMs (yet), but I’m not too concerned. If they purge me, they would’ve done it regardless of my LLM use.
For me, what’s important is that I can stand for the code I write, which I can only do if I have been an active part of the journey. When I’m in a meeting and anyone have a question about the software, I should be able to answer on the spot. Is this new feature easily feasible, or is a risky rewrite required? Can’t do that if my brain haven’t participated in the code.
I’m still one of the more productive members of the team as well.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Should I vote in the Eurovision?
0·1 month agoIt’s up to you, but I’d say don’t waste any money countering Israeli voter manipulation.
It came out in 2023
