Did it used to work? That sounds more like there’s a lag in the app updating. Likely your HA updated, but the fdroid version is an older version and it wants you to update, but the update isn’t available on fdroid yet so it’s pointing you to the play store

0·6 days agoLego Worlds is the best for lego destruction.
Take a look at this list:
https://www.thetechedvocate.org/10-best-new-cars-for-people-that-dont-care-about-technology/
It’s a couple years old, but the info is likely still good.
Not easy for complex pictures, but if you have a simple png with a transparent background you can import it into blender or orcaslicer and then add to the z axis.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•If you are formerly religious, how did you leave your religion and what made you do it?
0·11 days agoFormer Mormon here too. For me it was the news about the SEC fines. The church breaking the law to hide from the government and it’s members just how much money they actually have. For decades too. The reason they didn’t want people to know? Because they’d have ideas on how it should be spent. Yes, I think the hundreds of billions of dollars should be spent feeding and clothing the poor and homeless. Ya know, like that Jesus guy said, like a lot. But no, they say they need it for the 2nd coming. Cuz, Jesus is gonna need a large diversivied stock portfolio.
Since then everything else fell apart. I saw the insane number of lawsuits suing the church for covering up sexual abuse, and the church defending the abusers, not the victims. Now all I can see is a bunch of terrified, greedy old men clutching to power and lying to try to stop their members leaving in droves.

looked it up, seems like a quick setting:
I’m pretty sure I have the cheapest, one email address option with catch-all. I didn’t set up any aliases.

52·17 days agoI don’t want MMOs.
Same, also depends on what I’m going to change. If I’m doing any heavy editing, vi/vim. Something small and fast? Also usually vi/vim, but sometimes nano as it’s preinstalled unlike vim nowdays.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•What somebody with cosmetic plastic surgery gets injured, does stuff "spill out" or get seen?
0·23 days agoWhich is why they litterally inject it into our veins all the time.
All in one’s advantage is fewer points of failure, lower power consumption, and ease of troubleshooting. Disadvantage, something breaks, everything’s down.
Duo setup: more power, more points of failure, typically they’ll end up intertwined and dependant on each other, so if one goes down they’re both likely down. You usually need more hardware for High Availability.
I’d go either all in one with the best hardware, or go with what the other commentor said and have one be prod and the other dev.

Technology@lemmy.world•Linux devs are fighting the new age-gated internetEnglish
13·25 days agoMostly because it’s starting with dob, what happens when they require a phone number, address, credit card, or social security number? Faker can fake all those in that library. But you’re absolutely right, for one dob it is massive overkill.
Also, I’m do test automation for my career. Litterally use faker daily for generating test data. Defaulting to it is natural and familiar. Most use what they’re familiar with, rarely the best solution for a task.

851·25 days agothere’s a pretty simple solution IMHO. The faker python library is awesome at generating test data. Return a random dob everytime a site requests it.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Any experience with e-ink displays?English
9·30 days agoI’m doing a project of my own on an eink display. Like the other poster mentioned it’s an esp32 but it has a full dev kit. It’s called the paper v1 from m5stack. The esp32 has wifi, bluetooth, the eink display is touch enabled, it is a fully enclosed little device with a battery so it doesn’t need to be plugged in constantly. Possibly cheaper option than a pi+eink like you’re looking at, and likely uses a lot less electricity. I’ve seen videos of people who upgrade the battery in theirs. I’m not sure those applications work on it, but it’s possible something similar is built for the esp32.

Not really mechanics or speed, you can do it with something as simple as incompetance, or bad teamwork. Plenty of examples on youtube watch some.
