A trans fem person (born with male genitals) can in fact make a cis woman pregnant, tho some trans people may save some seamen, cause the quality may be degraded as the transition from cis man to women goes on.

I do believe that shemale is a slur, along with ladyboy, tranny and so on, in case you didn’t know :)

This is a genuine question: I would never use the word shemale because it strikes me as a slur, but I would use the word ladyboy to specifically describe the gender-bending culture of Thai bar workers because some of them do not consider themselves trans, but pursue that path for the career and lifestyle options. Is it still a slur when referring to that phenomenon in Thai culture, or is there a better word to use?

If they openly support the use of the word, maybe while in said Thai bars, but not anywhere else. I’m personally curious if they don’t consider themselves “trans” or if it’s with the assumption that it means “transwomen.” There can also be from a vein of transmedicalism where they wouldn’t consider themselves “trans” because they aren’t fully transitioning into full biological expectations set by society.

That definitely covers some of the workers, but there are people who pursue it as a career rather than a gender identity. There are many documentaries, YouTube videos, and streamer VOD’s about it where you can hear it in their own words.

The word is ubiquitous to describe that culture in Thailand—they literally call them “ladyboy bars”. Calling it a trans bar would be inaccurate in my opinion, because it is not a bar for trans clientele, it is specifically a bar that hires ladyboys as attractive staff, much in the same way a Hooters only employs big breasted women.

Also, the semen is just a fluid that helps move the sperm around. The sperm is what makes you pregnant.

The word is trans woman. What you’ve said is fairly derogatory.

In short, yes. Longer, there are some factors at play that can determine this. Some women taking estrogen lose some function in their penises and obviously women who’ve undergone vaginoplasty will face other challenges impregnating someone else.

If she’s pre-op and still has functional testicles then yes, she can get a woman pregnant. I think it might depend on if they’re on hormone replacement therapy but I’m nit sure.

The general advice is if you are wishing to avoid a pregnancy to assume estrogen won’t make you sterile (and use protection), and if you are hoping to have kids assume it will make you sterile (and get fertility services like freezing sperm before starting HRT).

Estrogen also causes penile atrophy, so the phallus may not be as capable of penetration as before HRT.

From the OP’s inappropriate title, I assume they are coming from the context of pornography, where the actresses are using methods to prevent penile atrophy (most porn involving trans women do not show women with penile atrophy), but in those contexts they are also likely taking steps to avoid pregnancy so the question clearly veers outside of the initial context.
