Same reason people put movie characters, game characters or dragons in there. Because they like them, one way or the other.

I suspect if you ask them who their bio pic is, you will get a very long explanation of who they are and why they like them.

I think it’s some closeted admittance of guilt. The more the anime girl looks like they’re underaged, I’m automatically thinking “yup, that’s a pedo”.

why do anime female characters have juvenile faces though? If it was not for DD tits, i would assume they are trying to depict a child tbh.

The same reason sexy actresses lose relevancy after 25. The same reason porn is majorly “barely legal”. Societal preference for young, innocent, untouched girls rather than competent, experienced women. Look at the male characters and they’re about the same, clean cut teens with maybe an exaggerated shoulder width and jawline.

And also because anime is a caricature of human form based on, presumably, a race different than yours.

While we’re at it, as far as mainstream Japanese society is concerned, those super-cute women wearing schoolgirl uniforms and tiny backpacks are actually bucking the male gaze by being too immature, apparently. It’s not a sex thing, it’s anti sex. Can’t control the international gawkers though

There’s a big fucking difference between a 25 year old actress and a drawing of a girl with a 12 year old face and EE size tits in a sexual suggestive position.

It’s not a sex thing, it’s anti sex

Again, the EE size tits, wet T-shirt, and suggestive position disagrees.

Men have been using sexy bikini pic women in the bios long before lemmy. Look at any hobby forum like bodybuilding, car repair, guns, whatever.

Because they like something about it.

I picked mine for nostalgia, but I like Earnest P. Worrell because he’s always making some [overly complicated invention]https://youtu.be/uYMw_dlnVH0?feature=shared) that didn’t need to exist, and he switches between multiple characters depending on the situation. I also like his grandiosity, integrity, and drive to do what he thinks is right. He remains positive in difficult situations, and I like his energy.

I’m old, so I grew up watching this.

Why do you have Tux? It’s the same reason. People like what they like, and as long as the PFP isn’t explicit, let it ride.
