Our tech overlords have ruined the online platforms that Americans depend on. Now, as Donald Trump returns to the White House with Elon Musk in tow, expect the same to happen to our government.
Yeah, it’s why a load of people don’t know what bookmarks are for.
They don’t need to store 50 different shipping sites, it’s all on Amazon. They don’t need a gaming forum for every game, it’s all on Discord. All those blogs and RSS feeds are now Facebook and Twitter.
Just like it’s easy to quit smoking — for a day or two. Much worse is the fact that so many traditional institutions have been supplanted by online ones. Try getting a job for example.
I can’t help feeling that the real bad news is not that online platforms have been ruined, but that people have been and remain dependent on them.
