  • Tanking the life equity of people, some of whom worked their asses off to buy a basic or “fixer” house, is untenable. That’s life savings and retirement, combined, in a single structure, for working class. In addition, it’s security for the kids.

Data centers roll through and trash not just resellability, but prior affordability and quiet enjoyment.

That last part would be like never being able to go home to relax, due to noise, light, and skull level vibration.

In addition to the monthly cost of staying there going up significantly, even as the property value tanks. Can’t even relax in a nice hot shower because the water pressure sucks now. It didn’t when you bought the place, but it does now. Good luck getting your life savings back on that.

I guess having billions isn’t enough. They have to shit all over you where you live too.

These assholes are taking everything from us.

  • Loyal Moses has a vid on these cameras re Ford patenting tech that won’t let you start the car if your mood is deemed incompatible with driving.

Whatever the case re drive ability, 100% your insurance company will have this data.

Does the car stop complaining if you cover it or is it a constant ear assault? Can you start the car if it’s covered? Is there a workaround to disable it?

ETA: what’s weird is that your parents aren’t aware that most people cover laptop cameras. I’m parent aged, and I do. Many laptops come equipped with a slider device to cover it.

  • It’s not even universal. It looks like a skull and crossbones, and the skull and crossbones isn’t fixed, drawn in one way. Look it up. You’ll get a confusing page of variations all labeled as such.

I have to remind myself that these days, campaigns are conducted on social media. The rabid, obstinate posts might be genuine. They also might be where superPAC money is being spent, on people, whose job it is to post and keep posting more organically than AI can as of yet, until the election ends. (I’m sure we experienced none of that leading to Nov2024).

Yes or no, I really do hope none of us (over 35) is exactly who we were at 20 years old.

  • The claim was the firearm was already in Wisconsin, no carrying over state lines necessary. As for the rest, I don’t think that state had any laws on the books re that firearm, wth open carry, iirc. After that it comes down to a court deciding whether or not the shooting was just, which was up to 12 people who were not us.

Remember, every state has different gun laws, some of which have none, only leaning back on 2A as their one regulation.

Regardless of the shooting circumstances, what kind of person do you have to be to allow yourself to be paraded around like this? Says something about his general mentality and implies sordid things about the shooting itself.

  • It’s not that simple and I say that as a woman. It’s about ownership of the idea that having kids is a “right” even if no one likes you enough to want to carry your genes forward, putting health and body at risk to make it so. In addition to the lifelong commitment childbearing requires.

The fact that you have to take some degree of ownership of another human being to treat childbirth this way is obscene, but here we are. Roe fell.

It’s more about entitlement. I can’t conceive of doing the same in reverse positions.
