Don’t recommend Mullvad Browser to people who just want a regular daily driver browser unless you want them to freak out and never try anything again.
To anyone uniformed - Mullvad Browser, while technically Firefox based, is actually a fork of Tor, and by default wipes everything on exit, as well as expects users not to tinker with it or install any addons to avoid fingerprinting.
Not really, I’m thinking of literal unapologetic nazis on Steam, gamergate chuds on Twitter, incels on Reddit, mykittens on Discord and so on and so forth. Competitive games suffer from bigotry the most, but there’s still plenty of casual “you aren’t a real gamer if all you play is Sims/Stardew/Animal Crossing” aimed primarily at women, too. And of course it’s currently the wave of nick fuentes type stains that freak out over anything even remotely “woke” that keeps the shitshow going, the GoW situation literally just took place.

Any other more involved attack vectors would probably fall outside of scope for the people potentially targeting an average person. To answer your question - if it’s real bad then try seeking professional help, regular people are simply not well equipped for dealing with mental crises and could accidentally make things even worse. Otherwise on an “easier said than done” side - learn to be self sufficient, have hobbies, do things you enjoy just because you enjoy it and people will naturally gravitate towards you, you’ll get to know more people who can become real friends and you wouldn’t feel as lonely anymore, and if not - you will no longer depend on others so much that bad moments turn into tragedies.
They don’t block it for logged in users yet, just like reddit, but if you are logged out and have no cookies then they will block the playback for known VPN IPs.
Would that even help? Windows malware can run on Linux precisely thanks to Wine and Proton.

Iran has switched to intranet and isn’t looking back. They now started selling foreign traffic at ridiculous prices and only to licensed companies, not consumers. Naturally, this created a black market with even more exorbitant prices, but that isn’t really a concern when it stops quite literally 99% of the traffic from reaching outside, and russia has already been planning to cut off foreign traffic as a whole in a similar fashion, except for now they are proposing that ISPs should provide the “internet+” plan to the regular users as well.
All this to say - they aren’t saying “oh well, we can’t block VPNs anyway, so we give up”, they are justifying the upcoming internet blackout, with the best case scenario where ISPs can provide much more expensive plans for foreign traffic. Not a lot of people are going to have the finances and ability to go through the trouble of paying for the internet access, foreign traffic and a bleeding edge VPN to access youtube.
Also lol @ him claiming internet censorship and restricting freedom of speech are different things, when a state newspaper recently published an article claiming that the iranian internet blackout is a massive attack on human rights and might lead to the end of the regime (check out Steve Rosenberg on YT if you are curious).

Unless there’s also a flawless system that can decide what is and isn’t AI generated, it will just be used to shut down anything anti government, while keeping pro government slop up. The way EU did it sounds better, but could still be abused in the same manner - just take down anything the government doesn’t like and say it was because they didn’t label it as AI generated, have fun going through the court system trying to prove it wasn’t.
