The US has the 17th highest deaths per capita and covid was the 3rd largest killer in 2020, behind cancer and heart disease.

Not per capita they had the highest number of deaths and highest number of confirmed cases (and experts think that actual cases are much higher due to a lack of mass testing and a shortage of tests)

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What do y’all think about Cloudflare?English
0·5 months agoThis is probably why so many people use cloudflare. Similarly to discord, their serivices can be found on several different platforms but they are the only ones who offer all of them for free.
Fallout? Does employment even exist at that point?

Linux Gaming@lemmy.world•Valve amended the Steam survey for December 2025 - Linux actually hit another all-time highEnglish
0·6 months agoAs someone who semi-recently made the jump (june) to linux, you need a lot of time to do it, even for something that would seem trivial to an experienced user like going to mint. Most people don’t have the time to do something like that. New systems built by curious nerds will probably be where linux gets most of its new users. (so it’s a shame no one can afford to build one)
In my gcse class my teacher made us do this test when we were studying civil rights. No one passed it.
Iirc, when it asks you to draw a line around something you fail the question if you draw a circle around it.
That’s how deliberately impossible these tests were. No one can pass it without looking at the answers first.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What emulators do you use to run different games, for example, on Windows/Linux/macOS and Android?English
0·7 months agoRetrodeck is great! It’s only issue for me is that they are picky with the emulators they use (not a fault of the project, since it’s a flatpak it’s probably done to save space) so the only options for switch is to use a ryujinx fork (accurate but poor performance) or hunt down an old yuzu appimage since they support it but nintendo stopped them from bundling it with the flatpak.
I don’t want a key but I recognise all these from the jingle jam bundle so merry christmas and thanks for donating if you did get it from there!

PC Gaming@lemmy.ca•Larian publishing chief says "there aren't currently any plans for a new Divinity Original Sin 3 game" as trademarks matching The Game Awards tease point to Divinity revivalEnglish
2·7 months agoI think this was said before the announcement to get people speculating.
Not much has been said about the new divinity but from my understanding, divinity was a series of games made by larian before divinity original sin with a much darker tone and more similar to an arpg than a turn based rpg like original sin or baldurs gate 3, but who knows which type of rpg the new divinity will be. My guess is turn based because that is what they are known for due to the success of bg3.
I think they are in the same universe. One look at larian’s games on steam tells me they just don’t know how to name games properly.
Payphones have not been around/in good condition for a very long time in the uk. Hollywood has created more mundane shit before, why wouldn’t they do the same for payphones?
