We could mess back. We cannot influence much their userbase but we could make sure to stick to our vocabulary and rename Meta’s thing. For example, Thread should be rename MMT (Meta’s Microblogging Tool) and Loops, their “communities” Bubbles.
Are they choosing the names on purpose to mess with the fediverse vocabulary? Thread, when they are part of the twittoverse but not the threadiverse and now Loop like the TikTok-like federated social media from PixelFed…
Ok, then. Lets make a list of 11 plants easy to recognised to help society:
Here you go. Enjoy saving society from its decline.
Bible […] must include copies of the Pledge of Allegiance, Declaration of Independence, U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights
I’m sorry? Why would people mixed (modern) political text to their religious ones? Aren’t people buying bibles suppose to care about their religion?
Even lemmy, which is small in comparison has enough people that I barely even think about specific users. Let alone speak with them on a personal level.
I have a different experience but I’m on a very smaller instance than .world. Your instance is big, generalist but their is lots of them that are location- or topic-oriented. Such instances are not only smaller with a more personnalised local thread but the people on it share already identified common points with you.
And first name
Are you kidding. I love this!
Every time I see a dutch sentence I got a bigger and bigger feeling that it is the german language with the poetry of a romance one.
My own uneducated guess would be weather. But I’m sure it is something else.
And keep leaving Twitter!
I like it.
I want to say to every Brazilian “Bem-vindo à nossa humilde parte da Fediverse !”
When I remember that it is Guy that post things that ennoys me, it is Time for a block. It doesn’t have to be something I’m angry about if the user is active enough in a space I frenquent but their post doesn’t interest me, I block them to clear my view.
I’l lucky to never had to block someone because I got on an internet fight with them.
Google is such a great source of inspiration (^_^)
I wish there was more people on not-so-general communities.
If this means less meme or political posts, it would be for the best. However, more specific communities that are not part of a themed instance have very little activity. If I want to learn about ecology and its science, I know I can find many active communities on slrpnk.net, if I want content that matter to Germans, I can go it feddit.org, jlai.lu the same for Frenchs. But if I want people posting picture of nice looking sticks or find !foraging stories or connect with people doing [email protected] I know that I have to be patient and that’s to bad 'cause if people spend less time commenting US election or some shower thoughts, some people will find time and fun interacting in these communities and many others.
