We were hearing reports of children getting their hands on them

No you fucking weren’t, “think of the children” is just your excuse to outlaw things you don’t like.

They’ll stop THC beers from being an alternative at bars… Which didn’t seem like a good thing, but it is a thing

There is one exception to the law: THC drinks may be sold by-the-can at fairs and festivals for the rest of 2025.

No palm greasing going on here… Lol

Iirc he’s eyeing retirement and won’t be running for reelection next year. After 40 years in office, he’s probably doing extra of what senators are good at doing, jack shit. Good riddance.

What were the products? Is this a delta 8 or other cannabinoid thing or a delta-9 by volume thing? I guess a blanket ban would eliminate CBD products and everything. Bummer. No surprise though. Kentucky leans very conservative and a bunch of counties are still dry (even though there’s huge bourbon producers there).

Go figure. Conservative politicians don’t mind making alcoholic beverages, it gets them tax dollars

They’re just not going to allow people there to enjoy these things. You can be damned sure these politicians have good bottles of bourbon somewhere in their homes, but again: rules for thee, not for mee

Did you know moral panics are the reason why weed was banned in the first place. If you thought America wasn’t the absolute biggest modern day racists learn the real reason weed was made illegal.

If it’s like Texas, it was the .3% thc hemp rule that we used here to skirt the delta9 bans. Starting Semptember 1st, every thc product or synthetic alternative will be banned. CBD must be 0% thc content to be legal. I hate this place.

The chemical is exactly what the chemical is, synthetic or not, and Delta 8 is an ingredient in nearly every bud. You’re getting lots of other(better) cannabanoids, but you’re still getting Delta 8.

One problem is, these concentrations of these specific cannabanoids can have unforseen consequences. ~100% legit THC shatter contains a mix of these cannabanoids, but, Delta 8, 10(ass) and similar are 100% what they are, if pure and not a blend.

There’s also the manufacturers to consider. Some may be more legit than others, cleaner than others, or use low grade hemp with pesticides. You don’t know, and they can say whatever they can print. What does Organic even mean on a Delta * label? According to whom? By what authority and how even? Even so, they’ll print it.

My point is more that it’s a shitty high when isolated. It’s often marketed as “legal weed” where weed is still illegal, but it makes you feel like drowzy shit. It used to be the only thing you could get in NY for a while.

The narrative that “gubermint don’t work” falls apart when it’s funded and working. Cannabis products generate entirely too many tax dollars and they must put a stop to it.

There are people who, disturbed by “big government” today and its tendency to curb the advantages they might gain if their competitiveness were allowed free flow, demand “less govern- ment.” Alas, there is no such thing as less government, merely changes in government. If the libertarians had their way, the distant bureaucracy would vanish and the local bully would be in charge. Personally, I prefer the distant bureaucracy, which may not find me, over the local bully, who certainly will. And all historical precedent shows a change to localism to be for the worse.
