Like are there people in the world who don’t know who Ariana Grande or The Weekend are?

I know Ariana Grande and The Weekend are singers.

But if you printed out 9 pictures of a vaguely hispanic woman singer, and 1 picture of her, I would have a 1 in 10 chance I point her out.

    Same thing with The Weekend.

And I’m sure you could name 20 names, 10 of them famous people, 10 are random names from the phone book. I would have zero confidence in knowing rather than guessing, who the famous people are.

This comment is outrageously funny to me. Because Ariana grande is not Hispanic in the slightest. Like, she’s so white she would stand out in the middle of a group of even vaguely Hispanic women like a sore thumb. But it just adds to the comedy.

Famous people are like fashion trends and pass like the seasons, and are about as meaningful. Eventually you give up caring about trying to keep up.

    They’re all narcissists, anyway.

I have heard of The Weekend. I have no idea who they are, what they’re famous for, what they look like, if they’re a person or a group, or anything about them. I also legitimately have no idea if you’re meant to pronounce the ‘e’ in Grande, people have told me, I just don’t care enough to remember.

You went with Ariana Grande and The Weekend as your example?

There’s a lot more famous people out there.

I have no idea, but I do know it’s spelled The Weeknd, for some reason. That’s pretty much all I know, though.

        for some reason

Search engines. Same reason behind “Linkin Park”.

Same reason it’s called “Blu-Ray” and not “Blue-Ray”. It’s much harder to trademark a normal word.

    Ariana Grande or The Weekend

Uhhh… the first one’s a pop singer I’ve still never heard a single song by, and the 2nd one’s how we spend our SAT & SUN’s?

    Heh, am I close?

Lol… that’s too much. Pretty soon we’ll be able to construct ordinary sentences out of nothing but pop stars & rappers names, I guess.

I’ve found seven such words / phrases so far, which might be knit together in to: Future Common Logic-- Why Prince’s Fun Weekend?

            Oh well, it’s a start.
