A family member put on a game show that included Brian Blessed and I commented it ‘must be old as he’s been dead for a while’?
Nope. 88 and going strong.
Who else has surprised you?
Christopher Loyd for a while
i have a community for this
https://moist.catsweat.com/m/stillalive
im always forgetting cher is still here for some reason
This is a triumph
I’m making a note here:

I’m making a note here, huge success
Weirdly when I open that in instance I only see one post but if I open the full link, I see plenty
That’s a pretty normal part of the fediverse. Somebody from your instance has to be subbed to a community for your instance to start pulling in its posts. Anything that was posted while nobody was subbed doesn’t exist on your end.
Lulz
Brian Blessed is still alive? Bah, who wants to live forever?
DIVE!
I had the opposite situation with Jim Varney/Ernest. I was so sad when I found out why there weren’t any new Ernest films at the time :(
jim varney was a gem. he also made an amazing jed clampett in the beverly hillbillies movie. just an all around funny guy. he reminded me a little of jim carrey in the way they portray physical comedy all over their face.
True story. His brother inspected my house. Very very thorough and very very serious guy, which I suppose is what you want in a home inspector.
Suffice to say, Jim took all of the funny gene in that family.
Earl Holliman of “Police Woman” fame. He passed just the other day.
You’ve misunderstood the assignment.
Doh. You are correct. I guess I would have passed the assignment if I had replied last week.
So close… But no cigar!
Mel Brooks. He turned 98 this year.
His character in The Blacklist did perish.
Not gonna say because I don’t want to jinx it
OJ SIMPSON
Abe Vigoda
… oh wait, he did actually finally die in 2016
Jürgen Habermas.
Buzz Aldrin.
Tom Petty
He’s dead.
What?!
Brian Blessed (88) is still alive, so is John Rhys-Davies (80). But we did lose large, loud, Scotish actor Robbie Coltrane (72). :(
Lionel Richie and anyone who was bald or over 30 when I was less than 10. Like Steve Ballmer
I thought Mr dress up was dead for years before he actually died . Pretty sure that was just a Canadian show so most people probably have no idea what I’m talking about . But he was like Mr Rogers and made lots of cool things with construction paper and glue .
