Lays had some chocolate covered potato chips that would come out around the holidays. I didn’t care for them myself, but my wife loved them and I miss buying them for her
Original Special K cereal. Not the Original they call original now.
Oh, I didn’t know they changed it. Haven’t had it since I was a kid. That sucks. Seems like everyone giving bad reviews on it. It was the only non-sugar cereal that tasted good dry.
How can you diss cheerios like that
Honeynut yes, reg no. But I used to have acid reflux as a kid so I would fill OG special K into baggies and take them to school. Helped a lot. Special K tasted sugary even though they didn’t coat it in sugar, regular Cheerios didn’t.
Made me think of the multi grain Cheerios that sound like they are supposed to be healthy but straight up taste sweet like honey nut
original carrot sobe
Fritos original lime and Chile early 2k.
Noragami - too soon it was just getting good.
Mandatory Firefly comment
The title has two questions and this one only fits one of them.
Wish wasn’t cancelled, yes!
Wish they brought it back? No, it was a long time ago, and they made Serenity to close off the story and tie things up. It’s likely that bringing it back would do more harm than good.
I don’t care, I’m still free, you can’t take the original series from me.
Dark Matter (the SyFy show), it was just getting good!
Also Pushing Daisies, Better Off Ted, Jericho, My So Called Life, Dead Like Me, Freaks and Geeks…
Why would Freaks and Geeks need another season? It ended fine.
Some shows are great in part because they knew where to end. F&G, AtlA, The Good Place all for example.
Better Off Ted and Dead Like Me, yeah
I’m here for Pushing Daisies.
Better Off Ted had so much potential :(
Seems all the more relevant today. They should revive the series, as long as Phil and Lem are still around.
Last Man on Earth, too!
Martin Starr is too cool now lol. Freaks and geeks might be hilarious with all the same actors now.
I imagine Bertram Gilfoyle is the adult that Bill Haverchuck grew up to be
I actually know Martin in real life and worked with him for almost a year and he’s almost exactly like his Guilfoyle character. He probably was Bill as a young person lol. The only difference is he’s super sweet but still has that dead pan sense of fuck you humor.
Lol that’s awesome
Cool. Cool cool cool.
As long as we’re on cancelled sci-fi shows, Babylon 5 spinoffs. The entire setting is more or less dead and it hurts.
(Yes, I know about The Road Home. It’s not the same.)
Problem with that is that almost everyone who was interesting is dead. Actor wise.
Yep. (Mira Furlan was a real punch in the gut, particularly.)
Every time somebody mentions Firefly I automatically think of The Adventures of Brisco County Jr.
Bruce Campbell in a steampunk cowboy romp across the old west?
That show ended way too soon.
There’s talk of a reboot, and that’s not what anyone wanted at all…
If they did another series they could do it without rebooting, just a different set of characters in the same ‘verse. Maybe meeting the originals at various times.
I have zero interest in that either. Those specific characters were the whole appeal to that show.
Man, that show was so likable, but I could never get over the pro-Confederate vibes, even with all the staff denials.
Call me crazy, but if I was going to bring back a series doomed by its association with Joss Whedon I’d give The Nevers another shot. I thought it was fun and then the Whedon thing happened and Covid happened and people seem to just have agreed it wasn’t worth it and gone home.
GLOW! A travesty it never got a fourth season.
Pringles Schezuan BbQ potato chips. In the purple bag. Those were the bomb.
So what they actually did was basically flawless from start to finish.
But give me 100 more episodes of the Good Place anyways.
I agree but at the same time I’m happy it got an actual ending instead of being drug out because of its popularity.
What they did was perfect, and there’s no way they could have just added stuff and had it be the show it was. They stuck to the vision and nailed the fuck out of it.
But I could also sit and watch a lot of episodes of reboots 2-5000 or whatever. The chemistry of that cast playing those characters with that writing was all magic.
deleted by creator
Oh yeah I could not get enough of that show
Peanut Lovers Chex Mix; the regular Chex mix is just fine but Peanut Lovers was on a different level.
Muddy buddies?
I have a few:
Choco Tacos: some places have been rumored to have brought this back
Mountain Dew Pitch Black. Reintroduced and limited.
Heroes franchise/series. Creator is rumored to be bringing it back.
‘I am not okay with this’ Netflix series based on a grophic novel.
Wish I had tried Pepsi Blue. Grew up in the 90’s but never tried it.
Edit to add: The OG version of GTA San Andreas uncensored. My buddy had a copy we would play but I never got my hands on a copy of my own. If owned this would be a collector’d item.
Pitch Black was my jam!
I prefer the original over Pitch Black II. But both are great. PBII tastes more like Baja Blast. The original was a lot more sour.
OG Pitch Black was my favorite. They had it at a local gas station: Wawa near me last year not the second but the original. I loved it so much as a kid. I cut out the wrapper and the plastic from the bottle and flattened it and glued it to a magnet. Lol.
Never heard of Pepsi Blue but I remember Crystal Pepsi
Was t crystal Pepsi just reg but clear. Did it taste different?
I remember it tasting just like Pepsi, but it was a little less syrupy in it’s consistency. I loved the stuff as a kid.
It was sweeter. Like, you were expecting lemon-lime of Sprite or 7up, but you got the sugary caramel of Pepsi. Almost like clear cream soda, but without the strong vanilla flavor.
Tastes the exact same as regular Pepsi if I remember correctly
Same, IIRC.
Pepsi Blue was actually in 2002 era. But as someone born in the 90s I should have at least heard of it. It was berry flavored they discontinued it 2004 which sucks. It would def make a good comeback.
I remember pepsi blue existing but I don’t remember ever wanting to buy it. I did probably try it at some point, but neither of the restaurants I worked at during those years carried it.
Also the limited time Dr Pepper Dark Berry for Jurrasic World. Closest thing. When that came out I looked up sodas/colas that were berry flavored and discovered Pepsi Blue.
idk if it’s the same thing but in the UK we had a limited run of “electric” pepsi a few months ago that was dyed blue, everyone I know assumed they were just trying to shift a bad batch as a limited edition drink.
‘I am not okay with this’
God, yes! I don’t actually know what any of the numbers are, but I’m convinced that if this hadn’t come out during the pandemic we would have absolutely gotten more.
I originally didnt know it came from a graphic novel. But the whole story just ends on a cliff hanger…
Command & Conquer series as a whole, no releases in 4 years, the last new release was a mobile game in 2018, and the last proper new entry was 2012.
The fan community has (at least) two really high quality mods still undergoing active development, with an actual release in the last two years. Giving this series the Sonic Mania treatment would be incredible, and probably make EA a lot of money, but also is very unlike their usual business practices.
Man, they won’t even remaster Tib Sun and RA2. You know fans would go absolutely bonkers for those, even moreso than original C&C/RA.
I’m particularly bitter about the unreleased FPS shooter. Seeing the Scrin as actually in-person terrifying monsters, plus a more empathetic Brotherhood of Nod, could have made for some great stories.
Isn’t there aome kind of openC&C thing that basically remasters it, adds better modding support and modernizes the controls, similar to OpenTTD? 🤔
I swear I fucked around with something like that a while back because I wanted to get down on some Tiberian Sun but I couldn’t even get my discs to install on Windows 10.
I would happily shell out $60ea for remasters of RA2 and Generals. Improved graphics, proper modem compatibility (64 bit, Proton, ARM chips), maybe a modern vs original balance mode? I’d be happy as a clam.
Renegade had some interesting gameplay ideas as a shooter, and a new C&C FPS has so much story potential. It’s a shame they cancelled the one, but a future release still has that potential. If they do it.
Ah man, Renegade. Definitely had one of the more interesting multiplayer match concepts. The closest thing I’ve maybe seen was Planetside, and, uh… well, Planetside 2 has plenty of its own issues.
But still. Good memories of shacking everyone into a flame tank, or running around like madmen trying to figure out where the hell that nuke beacon was planted. Have you seen the Tiberian Sun Renegade efforts?
Yep, I put hundreds of hours into Red Alert 2 as a youngun. I would absolutely play the shit out of a remake, provided a map maker was furnished or created by the community. I fucking loved custom RA2 maps.
TIBERIAN SUN!!! Now that’s a name I haven’t heard in forever. I looooove the artwork and style of that game
Command and Conquer 4 was not as bad as people say and now here we are.
The remastered collection was so good, though. I wonder if people just didn’t buy it, because you’d think they’d have given that team permission to just make a new one, but it hasn’t happened.
I recommend you check out Tempest Rising.
This is extremely cool, thanks for sharing! It’s now on my Steam wishlist
How about things that never were but have always existed? Been waiting my entire adult life (I’m 42) for GRRM to finish Game of Thrones. My kid was 2 when the last book came out and now he’s driving lol
I was gonna say Patrick Rothfuss’ King Killer Chronicles series. We’re never getting Doors of Stone. I loved his writing, but dammit, I’ve just given up on it at this point.
Oh wow I forgot about that series. It’s been like a decade lol. I didn’t even realize the third never released. What’s with these good writers not finishing their projects
The stress of success, many eyes watching, and not publishing is less crushing than publishing a shit ending that ruins the trilogy and wipes out all interest in the first two books.
It’s a shame I don’t find Sanderson books all that interesting because that guy puts out books like a Gatling gun.
Way of Kings did nothing for you? :o
Nah not really. It’s well thought out and all that but it just seems kind of “clinical” to me. I like a lot of grit (cormac McCarthy is my favorite author), so I lean more towards Abercrombie or mark lawrence.
Steven Erikson is another I wish I could get into but I find myself rereading the same stuff over and over until ultimately giving up.
I’ve literally tied myself over with several series of Sanderson’s while waiting for the final book in the Kingkiller Chronicle series.
I guess there’s always the reassurance that Sanderson will probably pick up any major series that needs finishing haha.
I think he painted himself into a corner with just how much he needs to resolve in the last book. Hell, we don’t even know what king is killed.
I think he could do quite a few things to make it more than just a third book. He could hand wave away some parts as “well that’s already well known, go talk to X for that story.” And then put that as a separate book.
Or just say to properly tell the story he needs more time than expected and give himself more than 3 of the in story days.
Gonna have to start fantasy book series just like Netflix these days. Not gonna start until the book/series has an ending!
And Matel still hasn’t released hoverboards
I’d like to see Sega come out with a modern console just to see what they would come up with
I heard rumors but couldn’t find anything just the mini consoles they come up with.
knowing Sega it would be a POV Sonic game that makes everyone throw up rings.
HBO’s Rome
